  1. Have a looky on this site http://www.pow-r.co.uk We got a Spoiler for the RX8 from them, they are involved in the Drift scene as well and importing all the kits for D1, Julian Mith @ Red Dot etc etc and any other kits you want direct from Japan as well Based in Luton , the guy we dealt with was called Alan (the owner i think) Very helpful, and they sell all kits for all Jap cars There motto is "if its sold in japan its sold over here!! There is some Supra stuff as I had a nose through their Catalogue oh dear looks like i'm gonna get another pm and for giving helpful and useful advice... for upsetting a trader on here who thinks he has the monopoly of this club and that no one has the right to be given info on others But hey this only a car club for everyone after all ... where information and help is supposed to be shared..
  2. Most decent insurance Co's just want a Cat 2 immobiliser fitted so the car is dead, Thats all I have and my premuim is £297.00 Fully comp protected, Its usually the companies that don't really want to insure these types of car that request a Cat 1 Alarm, Although Scoobies / skylines etc most companies demand a tracker, To be honest a Cat 2 is more than adequate, you just want the car immobilised, I've had a few interesting discussions with insurance companies on this subject their view is as our cars are now getting classed as low replacement value , a Cat 2 with certificate is now usually all Insurance Co's want Alarms ... do you take any notice of them ??? By then the damage is done anyway.. broken windows , ICE gone etc et etc so a bit pointless the more important thing is the car is still there.. hence the immobiliser
  3. Yes they'll stick ok as the stickers are very good quality, I'm after some for ther other halfs RX8 at the moment as the RX8 club uses this guy too.
  4. Smooth hamerite , same for hubs.. is best I have tried engine paint in past but rust comes back after 14 mths or so I re- handpainted my Supra writing on my calipers, Damn hard though as I used a very small Artist brush. Shaky hand or what.. but a little patience and time and they look Spot on .. When you paint your hubs though ... dont paint the mating face that the wheel sits on
  5. forget spacers, they will wreck your wheel bearings, long term Also worth mentioning the importance of the correct spigots inside the wheel ( plastic rings) these must be fitted and with the correct bore, otherwise whole weight of car is on studs and not Hubs, and you probably get wheel shake / vibration etc
  6. My wheels are 38 offset and will still clear UK TT Bigger brakes but that depends on your wheel design still though I have 5 spokes , People like wheelbase i've found etc are very clued up on these matters,
  7. Momo do not do a boss for the MKIV, APPLICATION IS WRONG I got my boss from Whiff bitz, its comes with criuse bits too if you need them. Any momo or steering wheel with standard 6 bolt fixing fits these bosses, not cheap though ...
  8. Great isn't it... I use a mpg / litre converter on the net, Makes Supra ownership just that little bit more enjoyable, I was thinking of going TT , But with running costs like that and a 6 sec Supra as it is... I think i'll wait a little bit longer. Well set up and maintained car and correct tyre pressures helps... Worked out my Supra does 12 mpg more on a long run than the other halfs RX8 ( Best she ever gets is 24 on a long run) thats nearly half her consumption again . So long runs are usually in mine, although she finds the Supra cramped and uncomfortable compared to her car.. so usually a debate arises on whos car we take... LOL !!!
  9. Wow!!! Thats just what i want, that looks fantastic, Did you make it or was it done for you ? Is the intake roar louder just out of interest ...
  10. James not going now?? God he's missing everything this year What with all the bad luck with the car .
  11. The HKS kit allows you to refit the Air charge sensor.. This is important as your MPG and general running will be awful, That sensor is very important beleive it or not ...
  12. Most things stay with a std scooby while its on the move.. though they very quick off the mark Our RX8 stays and spanks std scoobies on the move While they are on and off boost , we are sitting at 9500rpm beep and into the next gear and we are gone......... ahhhh love that rotary
  13. The exhaust has a 5in tailpipe and I would guess the system is 2.5 - 3in its a Trail system I reckon its possibily had some cam work as well as may be a little fettling with ECU, But i've not really checked that far into things, Maybe even larger injectors ( although doubt it as MPG is so good) Half the problem is the cars aren't set up properly (Timing etc) poor plugs etc etc They say 220 bhp but most have around 225 - 230 std if set up properly according to info i've heard from Japan and with good fuel Personally though I will change the HKS Mushrpoom filter to a bigger Stainless Cone type as the HKS has a bad reputation for filteration . I'm trying to find someone who makes a polished pipe ( to replace whats left of the standard plastic pipe to the throttle housing) i've been told as it has those resornator baffle boxes etc it is quite restrictive .. and looks awful , But it might be a custom job as you need outlets for the 2x vac pipes Most manufactuers seem to be a little out on their figures, Japs have the gentlemens agreement of 280bhp... everything has 280 bhp according to them Skylines . Scoobies etc but in realility they have more Mazda are so out on the 0-60 of the RX8 its much quicker than their figs, and the service software upgrade you get takes you above the quoted 231bhp ( although they come with 240 - 250 anyway)
  14. Oh bugger... didn't read this thread properly just saw Santa DVD and thought were talking about movies... Forget all the above unless of course you wanna make movies, I use NERO as a burner and its fantastic
  15. I put this info in a thread the other day I've Been using Santa DVD for ages:thumbs:  I make all my own dvds and I will be filming the convoy and Jap Finale @ Pod on Sunday, Letting the other half drive the Supe upto the Pod in the Convoy I'll be in the passenger seat filming If you have a tape camcorder (best) Use Windows movie maker, you need firewire on your PC but normally standard stuff these days, if not just buy the PCI Card You then Create your movie , edit , add music and titles It takes all your captures and you drag them down on a timeline same with your music, (you can use this program as well just for pics) then save to PC (Takes ages) Then use Santa DVD to import your movie and burn to a DVD (again takes a while) It works!! and you can play in any DVD Player I would say on average to do a 1 hr movie you are looking at around 2 hrs, thats about an hr or so saving to PC then another while it formats it in Santa DVD Then you copy as many as you like using your own CD Burner ( about 7 mins per copy )
  16. great!! Seems we are all getting in on the act lately... I'm waiting for the next step now from Dia Agastini, the model makers, as mine been made into a kids toy where they collect the parts weekly and get a mag Will be on TV in mags etc etc 4 hrs of photos ... the model i beleive is being constructed by a model maker in Madrid
  17. People always get offsets the wrong way round Smaller the offset Number ( further the wheel sticks out ) A 50 offset will push the wheels right inside the Arches Best offset for a Supra with aftermarket wheels is 35-38 with rims between 8.5 / 9.5 - 10in *bigger size on back) Although I have 8.5 all round with no probs 225/40x 18 on front ( going bigger when they wear out) 265/35x18 on back There has been a thread on this already about a week ago
  18. 24 -25MPG round town, mixed driving 36mpg on long run (average 85 - 100 ) Normal long run i get about about 240 miles per 30 litres
  19. ok back now.. thats her taken care of ..
