  1. VERY BRAVE MAN WROTE THIS A Son asked his mother the following question: "Mum, why are wedding dresses white?" The mother looks at her son and replies, "Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure." The son thanks his Mum and goes off to double-check this with his father. "Dad why are wedding dresses white?" The father looks at his son in surprise and says, "Son, all household appliances come in white."
  2. Sad news this year would have been the 6th year Bolney meet New Owners of the Stage don't seem to want to earn money .. 100's of cars and people £££££ to be made for them To say people are gutted is a understatement Hopefully a new venue will be found see below message from organisers on Jap uk meets From Daz, one half of the organisers :- "I am sorry to announce that Bolney 2007 has been cancelled. This evening Lex received a call from the pub (who are under new management) and they have informed us that we cannot have the meet at their pub anymore. I personally do not know of another venue that can cater for the number of cars / attendee's that we usually see, and therefore we have very little choice to say that the meet will no longer go ahead. My apologies." :(
  3. We had one as company car at work , GOD THEY ARE UGLY!! But they are actually really nice to drive ( stop laughing!!) I used to just keep a pair of dark glasses and baseball cap in the glovebox though in case i got spotted
  4. XK8 is a beauty to look at but make sure you have deep pockets, I have a mate who has worked for Jag for many years and he says the build quality is shocking and loads of probs and water leaks etc Shame as its a lovely looking car ( should be designed by the Aston Martin bloke) My brother in law worked for Merc for years before emigrating and said that was a real eye opener !!! really unreliable, shocking repair costs and poor build quality, you are buying the name he reckons certainly the not the product, but there again same can be said for most German stuff they gone down hill and if you look in the reliability and customer satisfaction lists for last 5 years they are all at the bottom along with the french crap, and dare i say it Land Rover (i won't go there!! ) Honda .Toyota are constantley at the top
  5. yeah 220 to a tank if you drive them like they were meant be the mpg is shocking average the missus gets is 23 mpg, but TBH its such a great car and a pleasure to drive that after a while you forget about the mpg
  6. I'm sure Lui will take care of that
  7. GTS is not slow !!! where did you get that from ??? Skylines are insurance ins grp 35 and for me insurance was same either GTS or GTR my Supra NA was £297 fully comp protected and the Skyline was £500, I chose GTS is lighter and more fun and cheaper to maintain The reason Skylines are hard to insure is FACT stastically they are written off in first 3 mths of ownership Thanks to ebay and cheap £4k dogs of Skylines young early 20 somethings are paying £3k TP only to insure them and then think they are Drift kings ... great... f+++ks it up for the rest of us Never mind though they only get to their 3rd insurance installment before its write off ... oh well plenty of cheap spares on ebay !!LOL!!
  8. Cracking car ... very twitchy though and big bhp potential
  9. Drove a RS4 on a track day... its a myth they aren't quick !! and the V8 is no quicker apparantly so the pro drivers said Just another heavy boring bland Audi ... yawn !! at the end of the day
  10. Or what about a Mazda RX8 (Our 2nd car) we bought a brand new one then 18mths later bought another one , Absolutley brilliant car !!! all the bullshit about them is tosh from people who read to many mags and don't own one.. Her next car will be either yep you guessed it another RX8 or a Skyline GT350 which i'll get my mate to import direct for me 2005 -2006 model circa 5k miles for about £18k delivered and converted to UK spec (not bad for a £30k car) One thing to remember with the Rex though is 17 - 24mpg and uses a little oil and only buy the 231bhp (Acutally 245bhp) forget the 190bhp model although that has more torque , that Rotary howl at 9500rpm is amazing Forget RX7's 8mpg average and you need very very very deep pockets !!! a few friends have them and they aren't used as every day cars
  11. Thats what i have just got to replace the Supra ... Great fun and comfortable and practical TBH the GTS is more fun than a GTR as will most Skyline owners agree as they are RWD and lighter than the GTR ,Ok the GTR is the pinical and better car but for fun and general day to day use you won't go wrong with a GTS , Fuel mpg is shit though compared to my Supra NA it replaced, And for small £££ lay out 300+ bhp eaily obtained i have loads of friends who have Skyline GTR's and they all really rate the GTS as a great package A decent one though circa 1997 Series 2 with 40k odd mles you are looking around £7k ish £4k - £5k BUYS A SHITTER ... And boy there are loads out there. If you fancy a Skyline pm me my mate is a specialist and will source you a car and upgrade it to your spec currently he has about 15 in stock
  12. I agree with James and i'm not keen on coloured wheels either, but they suit certain cars just not Supras You could get the rim edges polished , A wheel refurb place would do it for approx £30.00 a wheel Personally stock rims i think always look to narrow for the car , but thats my personal opinion , Each to their own though, But get the red rims and have the lips polished and they would look great, Polished rims on a Supe always looks great, I had Advanti Racing 18's with a ploished lip on my Supe and it looked great, My skyline has GT Culture 18's on with a polished lip too and the wheels look amazing
  13. Ceatainly is Even on my Skyline you get a delay so to speak when you floor it.. Baffle out spools up much quicker
  14. Was a great nite , well done Lui I bought JP Mag this week but this feature in Banzai looks better, nice pic of my Supe in it and nice we all got a mention by name at the end, Will buy a copy Saturday ..
  15. Well thank you !!! Metal work is my thing Its the missus that got a O level in wood work !! ha ha, You should see some bits of furniture she's made at home , good with her hands (lucky me) ha ha
  16. You can tilt it up and down for different windscreen angles (different cars) But at moment fixed forward position for convoys, you get good all round vision anyway cars passing etc Working on an attachment so you can pan it around This cost me nothing to make and film quality in terms of vibration etc is brilliant This is work in progress so to speak, If you have to many add ons then it becomes not so rigid which causes shaky and vibration pics
  17. ebay if you put in car cams you will see a company i think called fast films or something worth as look on their homepage once you get the link
  18. Same old arguement On a TT you may get heat soak probs which is why you will get all TT owners telling you to remove them where as on a NA you benefit hugley ( in my case i did ) although many will disagree .. But the proof was there on my NA it worked well with the proper Heatsheilds and cold Air feed having a hard pipe made by Turbofit as well to remove the nasty Rubber pipe and resonators vastly improved throttle response as well ( in my case anyway)
  19. A few pics of my cam mount in the car
  20. Yep plenty of the hard stuff to park on as said The Scoobies always "hijack" the soft verge down the left side anyway ... rows of the bloody things !!
  21. No filmed my trip to the Fuel station and back to check it out .. Got funny looks from other motorists who must have thought i was a copper or something (in a Skyline think not!!) ha ha It picks up the racket of my Skyline exhaust and the whooshing / wistling and dump valve going off a treat But the car is damn loud anyway , My neighbour complained it vibrates his double glazed bedroom window at 7.30 every morning , I said " what you still in bed at that time !! your point is??" Not as if i rev it or anything
  22. Seems fine in the Skyline but then again it is firm but doesn't rattle / thump and crash like Supras do over bumps ... must say that is one thing with the Skyline compared to my Supe and my other imports,,, A comfortable ride at last ... ha ha Not as pretty (in some peoples opinions) as the Supra but has so many plus points over the Supra IMO Fast and practical !! But I do really miss my Supra loved every day of ownership but the Skyline is turning out to be a cracking car after all and after getting offered £6k for a 95 NA i'd have been a fool to say no.. but it was a peach of a car that one and very quick for a NA (0-60 6 secs) Shame we never did get to see if anything had been done ECU etc.
  23. Tested it last night getting petrol (ok don't laugh filming myself getting petrol) and boy did i get some funny looks of other motorists But it works a treat and the pics have no vibration or shakes even in night mode, i just pressed play and had some fun !!
  24. Those window lifter / tile lifter the ones with two pads on and handle in the middle B&Q etc about £6.00
