  1. The manual is quicker - thats fact even according to the official figures just in a straight line, let alone around the track - less power loss, 6 gears not 4 => quicker. IMHO If it can save half a second on a single 1/4 run, it will save plenty more around a decent track because of the better car control it offers (better control using the throttle including engine braking etc). Sure you need a driver capable of handling the manual box, that goes without saying. Capable driver = manual every time.
  2. I still think i would have to see it in the flesh first. If you do go ahead with it, good luck and post some pics!!
  3. Make sure that before you get them you see the colour first... lol. Are you going to get light or dark?
  4. IMHO - they are borderline, depending on the car and what else has been done to it. Personally I think regular doors work quite well.

I'm not an expert, but I think you are ok at 1.2 bar on a j-spec without requiring ecu mods, you will of course need the vfcd if you hit fuel cut. 1.2 is about the very max safe limit you could run on those ceramics anyway as you probably know. I understand that you might be best off with a new (better) fuel pump e.g. a 255lph Walbro and a new fuel filter. If you want to remap, the greddy emanage (and emanage ultimate) look very very good. I plan to fit an emanage ultimate and profec e-01 in the future. Also fitting a FPR will allow you to run higher fuel pressure and thus avoid "running lean", ideally this would be remapped using the emanage of course, this would allow safe and optimised operation whilst still retaining those 440 injectors, for a decent BPU+ car... I'm sure some experts will be along to fill in the missing details, but I think thats about the size of it, HTH
  6. Black R***XKR. Spotted you parked at Beachy Head resturant today at about 5:30.
  7. How do you know that then Fire148??
  8. Great cars, nifty around the twisties and good in the wet or on dirt No match for the supe at high speeds though, but loads of fun for those country lane blasts...
  9. Nice car, this was mine- http://www.chillipower.com/Galleries/Lancia%20Gallery/Lou_Grale.JPG - I sold it to get the supra TT though... Also, got a gallery of some Grale's in action here if you're interested - http://www.chillipower.com/Galleries/Lancia%20Gallery/Gallery.php
  10. Yeah I imagine it could well be worth that much, I've heard that full throttle gear shifting is also worth 0.1s per shift on a manual too, sounds a touch scary though lol
  11. It would be interesting to know what difference RLTC can make on a stock (or fairly stock) 0-60 time, since half of the problem is getting the power down cleanly, anyone got any before and after figures?
  12. lol well I've heard that the supra auto box is one of the best, so you can't be doing too bad there! It's a 5 speed is it? Not had the pleasure to drive one, I was 100% after a manual at the time and for me thats the right choice, wouldn't mind experiencing an auto (esp a tiptronic) sometime just to see what they are like though
  13. Have to admit that as much as people tell me the supra auto box is good, the 6 speed manual is fantastic (if a bit agricultural, but I like that anyway!). I've not tried any flat out launches yet, got a competition on/off clutch, might wait for RLTC first lol...
  14. Yeah it is quite cheap and mine seems to run better too - AFAIK the ECU should adjust to the new fuel after 100 miles - or so i've heard. I've not done a ECU re-set either.
  15. j-spec = get a restrictor to keep boost under control! I'm de-catting my j-spec TT soon and I'll be using a restrictor for sure!
  16. D3xt3r, whats the stock time on an auto TT, its 5.5 or something like this?
  17. lol ok I get ya, get a TT and BPU/APU it then
  18. Whats depressing lol? A stock time of 4.9s is pretty respectable for a car that's not really optimised for 0-60, but more for mid and high speed acceleration and top speed... With RLTC and a BPU car (or better) that time will be a whole lot less too
  19. I got some of that 99ron fuel the other day from that Tescos in Crawley, the car seems to like it and the price is reasonable too I'll be getting it from there in the future, I hope they don't stop doing it!
