God bless the principle of moments. For anyone remotely interested, we inclined her yesterday, and she was well within the original design limits for stability. This involves a pendulum, and four racks of lead weights, each weighing a tonne. The weights are positioned as far fwd and aft as possible, one on 'each corner', as far outboard as possible. The weights are moved from one side to the other and back again in shifts, and the resulting heel or list is measured off the pendulum swing. If the displacement is known, these measurements can be used to calculate the VGC and righting moments etc of the vessel. Essentially a test to ensure the boat wont capsize under full load, or with its tanks empty and with a party going on on the skydeck as such. Thanks for listening, I just had to tell someone:)
