    So far so good

God bless the principle of moments. For anyone remotely interested, we inclined her yesterday, and she was well within the original design limits for stability. This involves a pendulum, and four racks of lead weights, each weighing a tonne. The weights are positioned as far fwd and aft as possible, one on 'each corner', as far outboard as possible. The weights are moved from one side to the other and back again in shifts, and the resulting heel or list is measured off the pendulum swing. If the displacement is known, these measurements can be used to calculate the VGC and righting moments etc of the vessel. Essentially a test to ensure the boat wont capsize under full load, or with its tanks empty and with a party going on on the skydeck as such. Thanks for listening, I just had to tell someone:)

    Ahh Ba humbug

Bring it on, more Christmassy the better. Nice to see that the forum gods have provided a 'bah, humbug' theme option for our seasonally challenged members.
  6. Still gotta be an Aston V8 for me:)
  7. Dont like it myself....sagging in the middle with a Wallace cheesy grin.
  8. Now you're talking. Sliced apple, cheese and banana, in a bowl, sprinkled with sugar. Lovely.
  9. As a kid, proper porridge always had salt on it. These days its honey / golden syrup / jam. Obviously.
  10. K***YEL nice and standard, 6.30 ish Darbys Corner. I was behind you coming onto the roundabout....did you see the ass hole that nearly rear-ended me ?
  11. There was a similar post to yours last year....ended up that the front springs were put on the back and vice versa ?? Edit....beaten by a younger, quicker but probably uglier forum member:p
  12. Ahh, I see. In that case, delete my:blink: and replace with a:)
  13. Not sure what you mean...have I said something wrong ?
  14. Dont know if a decision to write it off can be argued against, (Edited to clarify my opinion...) but its worth a try even if it means cancelling the claim if you can and sorting yourself. If not, you may be lucky...decent offer for settlement and right to buy it back at 10% of insurance value. Get her fixed up and re-registered as a category D. Take photos of damage and keep engineers report for when / if you sell her again, so that buyer knows what went on to deserve a cat D. Not really that bad, unless they offer you a silly low settlement. Offers can be argued against using details of similar Supras for sale etc.
  15. Insurance. Expensive, hope we never need to claim on it, but would we dare be without it ?
  16. Brave, different, very nice:)
