  1. Also depends on "how it has been used" as it is driver dependant they could have mis-used or thrashed their cars bad and by 70,000 the engine could be half dead!
  2. I am thinking of upgrading from the HKS Super Dragger to the HKS ti. I would like your impressions on what you like about HKS ti? Also is it much more aggressive than the HKS Super Dragger at idle and full throttle?
  3. I am thinking of lowering my car about 1 inch /1.5 inch max! Not below this as I have clearance issues. What springs would you guys suggest I buy?
  4. I have had a problem for a while now with a light detonation sound coming from the engine at around 4500 RPM and went away by 5000 RPM. It was the damn fuel pump not switching to high speed mode fast enough. It apparently operates on two modes low and high. But since the boost increase it has not been able to handle the extra fuel requirement at around 4500 RPM. It shifts to high speed mode only by 5000RPM thereby starving the engine fuel for a second or so during the shift from low to high. It is simply solved by wiring a 12volt signal directly to the fuel pump so it runs on high speed mode. I feel really bad about this I hope I have not caused too much damage to my engine. Has anyone else experienced this?
  5. I have the check oil light that keeps coming on every 5/10min for about 20/30sec and goes off. What is this due to?
  6. I have the Sard R2D2 blow off valve its very loud and makes a realy cool sound! http://www.takakaira.com/php/template.php3?id=702&cat=2
  7. So there is no way I could increase the fuel going through! Basically I feel I am running lean at a specific RPM. I am planning to get the Apex S- AFC and will be upgrading my fuel pump to a bosch 223 litre/hr capacity.
  8. Is there a way to increase the fuel pressure on our jap spec stock fuel system? Is the stock fuel Pressure Regulator adjustable and where exactly is it located?
  9. Anyone got anymore info on pros and cons of using a high resistance injector Vs the low with a resistor pack?
  10. Terry, I am basically looking at 500-550 hp in the future when I upgrade my turbo. So I guess 650cc should be fine? I am already upgrading my pump to a higher flow about 180-200 litres/hr. Will I definately run rich if I did not use a S-AFC? Also pls try to find more info on the advantage of using low Vs high impedence injectors. I don't want to regret anything!
  11. Maybe the J-spec may run better with the high impedence as the ECU is tuned with high impedence injectors.
  12. OK Guys! I guess we dont need the resistor pack if we use high impedence injectors. I just checked for injectors on http://www.takakaira.com/ click performance parts then go to the side menu and click [POWER] ENTERPRISE PERFORMANCE PARTS. They have injectors for the 2jz-gte which are high impedence and are available in 550cc 650cc and 800cc. side feed year before VVTI/and after ! Retail for $117 a piece.
  13. Yeah! Those are the coolest wheels for the supra! I just love em!
  14. I was wondering if you can use bigger injectors 540/620/680cc which are the same high impedence as the jap ones thereby not needing to use a resistor pack.
  15. Go to this web page below and click supra wheel fitment guide! Download tire fitment guide made by Steve a pro Rim/tire specialist. Will help you figure everything from Rim width to tire size/ height/clearance etc.. http://www.geocities.com/steve_jarvis_me/
  16. Thanks for that write up Adam! Senior Gavin, I agree I should get myself a FMIC soon planning the HKS-type-S. I am in the process of buying a new set of brakes and new wheels/tires which is kinda expensive landed cost with duty. UK-spec brakes with Apex rotors and also the BLITZ Technospeed Z1 19"/ with Bridgestone P's. Later!
  17. Need info on the jap spec fuel pump! If upgraded to a bigger pump bosch/TDI or a UK spec what are the pros and cons of upgrading? Will it help by richen up the fuel supply? or will the fuel pressure regulator stop any excess fuel being supplied to the engine?
  18. Alex, Could the performance of my jap spec pump be inefficent especially running boost? Are they any other problems apart from excess pressure on the injectors from upgrading the fuel pump? Will the TDI pump be too strong? Also could I just buy a bosch fuel pump with say 200litres/hr capicity and install? Anyproblems doing this?
  19. I am getting this feeling my jap spec fuel pump is not able to handle the extra boost and could be making my car run lean. Does one need to upgrade their jap spec fuel pump to run boost say 16/18 psi? I hear the jap spec pump is smaller and does not flow as much fuel as the UK spec.
  20. I will be buying a set of front stock calipers along with apex slotted rotors soon. Paul, How much are you paying for the front set of Hi-Spec brakes- calipers and rotors?
  21. OK! OK! I agree you guys in the UK have come to the consensus on max turbo pressure not to exceed 17psi for jap spec turbos. I have come to the understanding running anything more than stock boost is also bad for turbo longetivity not 17/18/19 even 15! So I guess it just means your turbos will last 6months longer than mine! I have no problems with that!! Point* Also I am not an old foggy to drive my car as if it were a saloon! We have a supra and should enjoy the power wether it means running the car hard on a track or doing times whether 0-60,0-100 OR 1/4mile! It is just personal as to how one enjoys there sports machine!
  22. Hello my friend Gavin! you just proved my point!! "running nearly 20psi/1.35bar boost" What it says is nearly 1.35 NOT confirming 1.35BAR!! also I actually did about 1.3/bar only as I stated! Also guys this is not a pinging kinda noise at all! It is just a single clank like sound that happens when you run even on low boost!!!! What I need to know is "How does one know if you are running lean?" What can be done to increase your fuel? Also could a fuel filter that is dirty cause this problem?
  23. TIME OUT GUYS!! 21PSI WAY!! I have never run my car above 1.3bar max and have done so rarely! On a regular basis I run only 1- 1.1 bar boost!! Also I have made a big change with my fuel since I was told not to run the car on hi-boost condition with poor fuel. I am running now close to 100 octane fuel. I know what detonation is and believe me this is not detonation due to boost this happens when running the car without the Boost Controller on and at 1bar too! I agree I must have asked questions on running high boost here and (supraforums) as I wanted to know what performace one can get with the stock turbos but have never needed to go beyond the 1.3bar mark. Also the performance I got at 1.3bar was out of this world!! and I did not need to and want to go beyond this. I do this only at night at lower temps outside 19 deg C. Gavin, NO WAY IN HELL WILL I TRASH MY CAR! I have the only one good quality supra tt available in India, among the 2 supra tt here in India. http://www.geocities.com/randymurthy2002/00007.JPG
  24. I have a serious feeling that I am running lean at say a fixed RPM like around 5k-7k. Cause I hear a strange noise {ping or metal kinda bang} like when I hold my revs between 5k-7k. Could this ping sound be something related to insufficent fuel? How does one tell if they are running lean? What can I do to run a little rich. ALSO~ When I run the car on WOT it does not happen. This happens when running anything above 15psi.
  25. DOWN PIPE !!!!! ELIMINATE BOTH CATS FOR A SUPER SUPRA PERFORMANCE! ALSO ENJOY THE THROATY SOUND OF THE EXHAUST. AFTER THIS BUY THE BC!
