  1. Someone explain what this is and how it is done?
  2. Justin, I have asked takakaira.com if they can get them for me but I have not had a reply yet. Also have written to SSR asking them. I can't seem to find a dealer who sells them.
  3. They have sold out of them! I have aldready asked! The manufacturer too is not making them anymore. I would be the first one to get a set of those as they are sooo cheap! BUt they come in only 18/8.5 and 18/9.5 max tires you'd be able to run on the rear would be 275's!
  4. Well I just received some messages from some experienced guys on wheels and they too have recomended me to use 295's on the rear and not go for the 315's unless I build my suspension. Guess the 295's will do! Alex, I too was thinking maybe 275's were too big for front tires! I was thinking of 265's but S.jarvis is using 275's for quite some time with no issues. Also the price difference between the 265/275 ar't that much!
  5. I am taking advice from Steve Jarvis(supraforums)as he has the same wheels but is running 275 in the front and 295's rear with 18/9.5 and 18/10.5. He says it would be fine running 315's as long as you take care of the fender and liner, but the car might understeer a bit without adjustable shocks and a bigger rear swaybar? Check his car with the wheels: 275/295 combo! http://www.geocities.com/randymurthy2002/STEVEJ.jpg
  6. OK! GOT YOUR POINT! I WILL ALSO GET A FMIC IN A MONTH AND TILL THEN WILL KEEP BOOST BELOW 1 BAR!! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUTS- IT WAS QUITE A THREAD!! TIME OUT!!!
  7. Guys this detonation this is being blown way out of proportion!! I only had a pinking sound happen only on high boost when the second turbo comes on line for 1/2 second and the fuel computer was not quick enough to shift the fuel pump from low speed to high speed mode. Since I did the 12volt mod it has now gone! Also my new high performance fuel pump is on its way and should take care of it better! Regarding the wheel and tire combo. To fit the 315's you would need to roll or cut the fender 1/2" and also beat the inner fender well inside to accomodate the tires better. Also need correct offsets!
  8. Thanks Justin, I have decided to go for wheels for now! I will be getting the 18/9.5 front and 18/11 rear and will run front 265 and rear 315. Can't wait! Im sure the car will look a lot more muscular with fat rubber.
  9. Terry, what is the point of being on this board if I don't have the freedom to ask you guys about genuine problems I have. What is the point having a poll or in that case asking for opinions? This is done so that it will enable me or you to make a better decisions. Anyway Im dissapointed about this hiper behaviour which leads to personal attacks. Also like Paul says creates ill-feeling among us. Here you go Terry the website for SSR is: http://www.speedstar.co.jp/ I have not found a dealer who sells this particular wheel but you can check with SSR directly.
  10. Gavin, Sorry to irritate you! But, you come up with your own conclusion on what problems my car is facing sitting 6000+miles from me. I suggest you not come forth and base your opinions as fact! I know what problems my car has as to detonation, it was the 12 volt fuel pump mod which partly solved my problem and in no account did I say I was detonating continously due to high intake charge. It was just at a particular RPM and on part throttle- I had no problems on full throttle even running 1.3 bar boost. Anyway like I said your knowledge is based on what you see right in your head and does not state fact. While I know you are trying to help me solve my problem, it does not do good to assume be self righteous, and mock me for not listening to your advice. Take it easy! Be more considerate to people and there problems. That is why we are on this forum to help each other.
  11. Thanks for that Paul! I have no problems regarding insurance. I have always wanted a nice set of wheels like the SSR Decolte Evolution 18/9 and 18/10.5 with some bad ass rubber like 255 front /295 rear combo! Makes the car look really cool. http://www.geocities.com/randymurthy2002/SSRDECOLTE-EVO2.jpg
  12. I am in a state of confusion! I have some money to buy either a set of New wheels and tires, or I can buy the following parts. HKS FMIC Type-S UK spec front brakes New high performance fuel pump Ebach Prokit Springs Apex S-AFC What should I do buy a fancy set of wheels or this other stuff? Currently using the Racing Hart C2's 17".
  13. Terry, I was thinking of buying the high impedence injectors sold by POWER japan. If I do buy them, I don't need the resistor pack and also the wiring up of this gives me the creeps! Are there any problems associated with running the high impedance Vs the low? Need your advice! Thanks:)
  14. I know! I know I have been on about fuel for a while this is only because I know I am running lean, but yes I will get a FMIC very soon! And Gavin this is not det caused due to intake charge being too high! Its just that I have sooo many things to buy I don't know what to buy first? New Wheels and tires. 98 spec 320mm brakes 4 piston calipers Fuel Pump Injectors FMIC RMM carbon fibre wing. Front bumper from Do luck Single turbo New sparco seats etc...etc.... Need lots of money:baa:
  15. Martin! stop nit pickin! Of course I will be upgrading to a larger fuel pump! Will be placing an order for this 255 litre/hr fuel pump for supra check it out. http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/
  16. One more thing I have an option on buying the 650cc injectors too. Will this be a better one to use for now and then later with a single. May be easier to control fuel with 650cc than the 720cc?
  17. Thanks for your response! I will probably buy the PHR fuel kit or what titanmotorsports is selling. But what should I do about the immediate fuel requirement? For now can I just buy the 720cc injectors and use a S-AFC to control the fuel, as I want to give my stockers more fuel. Also since I am running really high octane gas I may be making more power and this may also be a reason why I am running short of fuel.
  18. I am currently running 440cc injectors and need bigger say 550cc injectors as I am running pretty lean at specific RPMs on high boost. What should I do? I plan to upgrade to a single turbo in about 6/8 months say like the greddy T78 turbo. But I don't want to buy the 550's for the stock turbos and then again have to buy the 720cc to take care of the single. What injectors should I get? If I get the big injectors will it be OK to run with the stock turbos? Will I be able to control the fuel flow with S-AFC? Will the stock FPR be able to control fuel?
  19. Alex, I am using an octane level of 101.8 RON fuel! From what I have read the Jap spec cars have fuel and timing advance maps in the ECU for 100 RON fuel to take advantage of the high octane fuel availabe there. Hence I can't tell you how much difference it makes using this high octane fuel after re-setting your ECU. The car feels like a damn rocket!! Response is so sharp its unbelievable.:flame Dev I don't know how the air fuel map might look like as I don't have anything to check this.
  20. Yes F1 cars used close to 84% Toluene and the balance 16% in brew was n-heptane which has an octane rating of zero. The reason for this was F1 rocket fuel was limited to the rules to being of 102RON octane, the n-heptane is "filler" to make the fuel comply with the rules. The cars ran almost 4bar of boost or 59 psi. I am using a 40% mix of Toluene! All I was trying to say was it is perfectly fine to have your fuel pump on 12volts running continuously as do most cars and the temp increase of the fuel due to this won't affect your performance much and in my case will improve performance as I was using Toluene.
  21. What I meant was Toluene is more difficult to ignite at low temperatures and if one uses a high toluene content in their vehichles and for it to burn effectively it needs to be of a certain temperature, infact Formula 1 cars which ran high toluene content needed to have hot radiator air diverted to heat its fuel tank to 70 degrees C to assist its vaporization. If toluene is below temp it would lead to cold start problems and also affects the responsiveness of the engine due to poor burn. Because it is such an effective anti-knock fuel it also means that it is more difficult to ignite at low temperatures. Do some reading on Toluene!!!
  22. Well guys! Since we are in the topic of fuel pump, I have some news the damn 12volt fuel pump mod did not fix my det problem completely. Now I dont have det on low boost below 1 bar when the switch over from 9-12volts happens but the moment I up the boost anything above 1.1+ and I hold the throttle at say between 5k and 6k I can hear a slight det sound must mean I am running a little lean at that specific RPM range. The det sound does not happen when I am flooring it completely just happens when I hold Revs between 5-6k on say half to 3/4 throttle. Don't know what to make of this but my injectors are not opening enough to supply the required fuel? Gavin, Regarding the fuel pump being on 12 volts I was told it is perfectly fine infact all fuel pump mods will have the pump running continuosly on 12volts. Regarding the increase of fuel temp it is probably good for me as I use a blend of Toluene and regular fuel and since Toluene needs a higher combustion temp than regular fuel for optimum efficiency it would be just fine.
