  1. Hi - just thought I'd point you in the direction of this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=2392001#post2392001 In case any of you fancied joining us? Cheers
  2. Hodge - any idea if this date is ok yet in terms of not clashing with JNE?
  3. New thread with details started here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=2390270#post2390270 Includes a few pics I took along the way yesterday too.
  4. For subsequent applications of wax to have any effect - i.e. build upon the previous layers and give further protection, the first layer needs to harden/cure/'go off' first. This takes about a day normally but I think there are products on the market to speed up the curing process.
  5. Let me know as soon as you can mate and I'll change the date. No reason to wait really - could always do it this weekend or next?
  6. Ok - this is going to be a class drive (just pray we don't get snow ) The route will be as follows: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Tyne+Green+Rd&daddr=A6079%2FRotary+Way+to:A686+to:B6277+to:B6282+to:54.969337,-1.963806&geocode=FczkRgMdsebf_w%3BFWbrRgMd7g7g_w%3BFYyaRAMdZrra_w%3BFbr2QQMdiqbe_w%3BFWw7QQMdvnnh_w%3B&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=1&mrsp=5&sz=11&via=1,2,4&sll=54.916487,-1.95076&sspn=0.184307,0.439453&ie=UTF8&z=11 There will be 2 main meeting points along the way: North - Tyne Green Country Park, Hexham: 11 to 11.30am South - High Force Hotel, Forest-In-Teesdale: 12.45 - 2pm (for lunch) http://www.highforcehotel.com/index.html The plan is to stop for a pub lunch at the High Force Hotel, so make sure you get your name on the list below and whether you'll have a passenger or not so that I can book some tables in advance for us. We'll try and get some short stops along the way too for some photos. As it stands, the loop isn't closed up as I'm assuming once we reach the A69 again some people may just head home. However, if there is enough interest, I would suggest we all round things off saying our 'byes' with some refreshments at the Keelman Pub: http://www.petersen-stainless.co.uk/blb/thepub.html 1. 7. Ok, well I made the drive this afternoon and it is one helluva route with some stunning scenery! I reckon with a stop for some photos and pub grub along the way, it could easily take 4-5 hours. Roads are a combination of fast straights and some nice twistys – including some very tight hairpins. Much of the route is across relatively ‘high altitude’, open moorland taking in some of the North Pennines and the roads were very quiet today . All surfaces are suitable for our motors, with tarmac along the whole length being in ok to good condition. There is a bone-shaking bit through Alston up a cobbled road but it doesn’t last long… The only potential issues would be the odd very tight corner to catch people out, no barriers on the road-side, a fairly good chance of sheep in the middle of the road and the weather over the moors can be very changeable with the clouds coming low. If the weather is good, it’ll be a great drive out providing people are sensible and drive according to the roads and the conditions (and of course the law). Finding spots for some great photos along the way will not be hard – finding somewhere we can all stop for stationary shots is a different matter! Depending upon final numbers, there is the odd stretch of road were a few could pull over, but given that the roads are so open the best bet would be for a few of the cars to have passengers taking pics from the window on the move. As the date has changed now, I’ll start a new thread with all the details on.
  8. Looking forward to seeing and hearing this at our meet in a couple of weeks. Great work John!
  9. Ok no worries. Week before or after then? Got an extra day off work tomorrow, so if the weather is decent again me and the lass will be taking a nice leisurely drive in the country side :-) Will report back (about the drive).

    Mmm dish

Looking good James. Was going to take my old braids to SEM to get refurbed but might just have a crack at them myself now. You coming on the 21st June?
  11. Slightly off the topic now as this seems to have become a copper bashing thread , but here's the link to some of the pics I took at Japfest. http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/stevoharris1975/Japfest09#
  12. That would be my probably. Were you in your supe mate?
  13. Just realised my link to the pics isn't working - will sort it out tonight when I get home.
  14. Just worked out I got about 27mpg on the return trip home over the 304 miles.
  15. Great - numbers looking good again. Just back from Japfest, so have just seen the follow ons for this thread. As said, I'll do the drive sometime in the next couple of weeks and scout out some places to stop for photos, convenient meeting points for different areas and somewhere for some grub eh? See if we can avoid piling into Maccy D's this time...
  16. Just wanted to re-iterate everyone else and say a big thanks to Lui, Mawby and everyone else who had a hand in any of the organisational aspects - top job! Well worth the long drive down from Newcastle.... Stand was great and we definitely had some of, if not the best, numbers. In hindsight, I wish I'd hung around and chatted a bit more but was very keen to make sure I seen everything there was to see and catch plenty of track action. Got some decent photos of the day (including some from up the top in the bushes) so will get them uploaded and post a link to my picasa account - hopefully today but maybe tomorrow.
  17. Yeah. I've got a decent route for a drive all sorted out but wanted to test it out first to check road conditions and possible photo stops etc before I posted details. Anyway, see below.... Was looking at doing it on Sunday 21st June, which will be 1 year after Lew's tragic accident. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=54.545186,-1.922264&daddr=A69+to:A686+to:B6277+to:Barnard+Castle&geocode=%3BFfgXRwMdpsbe_w%3BFYyaRAMdZrra_w%3BFaROQQMdhH3g_w%3B&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=0&sz=12&via=1,2,3&sll=54.549766,-1.906128&sspn=0.140583,0.307617&ie=UTF8&safe=on&ll=54.775346,-2.103882&spn=0.581398,1.230469&z=10 What do you think? 1, hodge 2, stevo 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
  18. I think Mawby and Tigger are staying there on the Friday night too... I am planning on getting to the event earlier than Lui's convoy on the Saturday so I can see them arriving and get some pics of them as they come in. I'm with a couple of mates in a Civic Type R and a 350Z but we should all have a few drinks in the bar on Friday eh? Or a look into Chippenham?
  19. I'm staying at the Premier Inn on the Friday night too Scott. Didn't fancy the drive down from Newcastle on the Saturday morning
  20. Stevo

    red/washington

Don't see many red ones round our neck of the woods - usually black or silver (unless its Hodge)
  21. Damn - if only I wasn't going down to Japfest this month, would have had this! Easy to collect for me too :-(
  22. Yep - I'd be interested in the black ones too.
  23. Noted for future spending
