Garage doors

I'm painting the garage floor to get rid of the dust from the concrete which is only half the problem the other half is the up and over door I have which lets all the crap blow underneath it !! So I'm looking at a sectional door which creates a nice seal with the floor to stop this and go electric at the same time. Anyone know a good company or someone local to Chesterfield and what price I should be looking at. The opening is 8ft by 6ft6 and is there's a benefit to going dual skin insulated on a detached garage ? I'm edging towards a sectional over a roller as they look more sturdy and more secure.

Could you not fit a bit of foam? Rubber bumper on the up and over to create a air tight seal?

Sorry i don't know anyone.

The sectional door looks great though and secure better than the roller in my opinion.

Not really as to create a good seal the rubber would be constantly rubbing on the floor due to how an up and over works it would eventually rip a chunk off or come off altogether.

hmmm ok . is the floor level ? when i had mine extended , the new bit sank a small bit , and when it rains with the wind into the door it leaks on that one side , my door is a sectional one ,

When the door is shut the gap between the door and the floor is the same all the way across so I think it is but I can feel the wind easily when I put my hand near the bottom but I don't really see any day light. I could try a taller strip to see if that helps but how much of a ball ache is it going to be to rip up off the floor ?

I've just had mine fitted by a friends dad company, they are actually in Chesterfield too, near the VW dealer on the bypass.

Chatsworth Garage Doors - http://www.chatsworthgaragedoors.co.uk/

I had a sectional insulated door fitted, Horman make, fully remote/electric it's fabulous, its sealed all the way around also, loads warmer in the garage/bedroom above.

They are fully locked, you cant lift them up, with the power on or off you'd literally have to smash it in, but with the thickness of it, would be hard!

Mention my name you might get some discount too.

Who did you get yours done by Tyson? Interested in this but mine is a double garage so thinking of a very large door and a small side door or a small brick wall.

I used a company called vecelli garage doors, it was £799 fitted and they took my old garage door away. Mine also came with two remotes.
