S7EVE Posted July 25, 2006 Share Posted July 25, 2006 As some of you are aware, I've hired the venue and services of Western Performance (www.westernperformance.co.uk) for a Rolling Road day on Sunday September 24th. The event is in conjunction with a small local Japanese Car Club I also run (www.japworcs.co.uk). Western Performance are based in Solihull (J4 M42) - Please check out the website for further details. You probably wont of heard of them before, they are a new company and have only had the rolling road active for 6 months. The owner invited me down for a tour of the facilities, so along with Burna and another friend, we had the full works. Now, I was VERY impressed with the setup, the rolling road is extremely impressive and they demonstrated the dyno operational which was very interesting! The British Touring Car team have been using there facilities lately. So I have booked the venue for the day, each dyno will take 30-45 minutes. The start time is 8:30 arrival for 8:45am start prompt for the first car. The day will finish around 4/5pm. The cost is £35 per car on the dyno - this includes the owner being able to talk to the tuner whilst the the RR is under way, you will get a full print out with RWHP, FWHP, Fueling and Torque figures. Spectators can watch from a special glass booth to the side and see everything. Your £35 also includes food from the BBQ, photo's taken by the days designated photographer with the lovely models drapped over your car! Spectators are more than welcome, we will have a full BBQ with refreshments - there maybe a small charge. The RR caters for Auto's not a problem, the guys there have a 750bhp Auto Supra of their own. There is ample parking and we can setup base for the day. I have confirmed we can get 12 cars on the rollers. I hope to have some press interest - Banzai may be in attendance! Great - we've achieved the numbers required and I can guaranttee all those above have a slot on the Rolling Road. If anyone else wants to come please put your names down, I can not guaranttee additional slots on the RR but if there is time left at the end I will try to get you a run.
