******SOLD - RYAN G *****

As I'm selling the rest, I won't be able to use these as they'll need at least an Emanage to get the best out of them.

These are a brand new pair of Garrett VNT28 variable geometry turbos. They are extremely rare, especailly in gasoline form, which these are.

They will (with a boost controller) give the best boosting turbo system out there.... even boosting at idle (hopefully, and if you want it to??).

See this thread for details http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=105003

Compressor is 42.8mm minor and 59.4 major, which makes it a 52 trim 0.42 A/R GT2259 compressor wheel. I've checked it out and its capable of 500hp between the pair.... that's 500hp plus boost whenever you want it :D

Turbine is quite small at 43.2mm and 48.4mm, but you've got to remember that the VNT vanes can make the turbine act like a big or small one.

An external wastegate *may* be required... or it may not. This depends on if the VNT still makes a lot of boost when fully 'open', or if it is reasonably controlled. This can be simply tested by setting the vanes fully 'open' and seeing if it boosts above the target boost level.

They come with the basic mechanical control system, which will plug into the pre & post throttle pressure tappings. An electronic boost controller can then be used to control the boost on the VNT actuators.

If an external wastegate is needed, then a second boost controller can be used to control that, and limit the maximum boost at peak torque to peak power.

I was really looking forward to getting these on the Supe & having power with no turbo lag, but to be honest I don't have the time for a project like this :(

So, they need a good home. I'm selling them at what they cost me. No more & no less, though I suspect that they are worth MUCH more.

The turbos have T25 flanges. A 3/4 inch steel plate adaptor mated to either a UK or Jspec manifold would allow these to be fitted relatively easily. Downpipes with the correct 3 bolt pattern can be had from XS power (fit a Nissan 200SX S14 IIRC) for £50+. Wirth a bit of chopping & weldingf these could be easily made to fit to the Supe exh system.

Oil feed & drain are same as nost other Garrett turbos, and parts are available on ebay.

Anyone fancy a project???

I'm thinking that this could be a right 'mare to get installed, working and mapped correctly. Otherwise I'd be up for it.

It'd be simpler than you think. Same as any other twins really.

If you know someone that's good with a Tig, then bob's your mothers brother!

whats very very special about them?

For starters, the price. Secondly, If i'm not mistake this would be the first setup for a Supra? If fitted to a 2JZ of course.

Think no lag and you're getting there ;)

Just when i've shelled out for a plain old single as well

what would you need to fit these, do they use the stock system (i assume not) or are we talking custom twin manifold etc,

It would need to be custom manifold, an HKS manifold for Garrett T25's or a pair of adapter plates to allow them to mount onto the stock manifold. The nothing too difficult for a competent home fabricator with a bit of help from specialists such as welders, machinists etc

LOL!

If I could sneak them under the radar then I'd be quite interested in them.

The problem is that if I told Hannah that I was getting a couple of new turbo's, I think she would straight out leave me. I don't even think there would be any conversation about it...

It would be pretty amazing though...:innocent:

Yup My brother is getting the manifold flanged made up this week then its time to design the manifold arrangment.

Not my project tho as have not got time for this stuff no more but my brother has. I will just sort the mapping and design of the system.
