Steering problem.

Have a bit of a concerning steering issue at the moment.

Getting a lot of feedback through the wheel at about 60mph+ and doesn't go if I try to drive on through it. Vibration actually remains all the way back down to low speed.

Veering slightly to the left & feeling a bit of resistance & more vibration when turning to the right (which makes me think it's mechanical).

Had all wheels tracked & balanced recently & rubber is in ok condition.

Pump, rack etc?

Had the car on a ramp and checked for play in the wheel bearings and bushes?

Grab the wheel at 12 and 6 position and check for play.

Same at 3 and 9 o clock.

Pull down on control arms and drop links etc to see for any play knocks.

Eliminating that could just just be a sticky calliper or warped disc

Well by process of elimination and throwing time and money at it I think I'm heading down the route of needing a new CV joint or shaft.

Going into a garage this week for more analysis and hopefully a fix.

If steering wheel is shaking, it's mostly to do with the front, so doubt it'll be a cv joint. I have the same issues and i'm thinking it's a balljoint.

So far replaced everything apart from the hubs and control arms. Waiting for a front lower arm and then my front will have been redone.
