Ady
Has anyone done a bleep test recently? Im trying to find out how bad 4 shuttels are at level 5? Hard going? or not so hard? Cheers
Sparky
I just passed the Police entrance bleep test. Level 5.6 at 15 meter lengths was required. I got to level 7.2 and developed a stich (Unfit lol) My problem was i practiced the bleep test at 10 meter runs thinking that was the length, and had a shock when they told me 15 meters when i got to the assessment! Just go running and practice 15 meter shuttle runs and you'll be fine. I can post you the bleep test if you want?

Gruggs
Bloody hell they are all low. I remember for my badminton squads if we didnt hit minimum level 14 we were made to do double training sessions. Ahh..remember the days of throwing up after these tests. colsoop
It depends on what surface it is being done on as well. Level 14 is fairly impressive. Have a look here for an idea of how unfit you are: http://www.topendsports.com/testing/beepcalc.htm

Kranz
Bleep test level 5 is just barely a jog 5.4 is the police entrance requirement...... am I right? I do level 10 on the 15m, which gets quite quick after level 7. Don't worry, its a breeze. I can email you the .wav file to play on an MP3 player if you like and have a go at it yourself? Sheefa
Done plenty mate as am practicing them for RAF Officer selection. Started doing them back in June and got 11.9 at the PROAC course. Now I'm at level 13.2 and am hoping to crack 14 in a month. That'll score as VERY GOOD on the new RAF fitness structure so all is good. Not easy though. I practice them by doing fartlek training. Yes I think you're right there. I still think its quite low especially for the police entrance. Ive been in the gym abit since and can now get to level 9 which is good, but im hoping that with more running i can achieve level 10 - 12.
SteveR
I practice them by doing fartlek training. What's that then?
Tom
yep, did this for the "be a racing driver competiton" a few years back, i'm sure "AJI" on here did too, I managed level 10 which took 3 weeks training to do comfortably and I didnt push too hard as I had a 6 hour drive home straight afterwards! training wise was 20 min run every night btw. Ian C
Why not just zip the darn wav up and attach it on here
Sheefa
I believe the only people have completed all (23?) levels of the test are Lance Armstrong and David Beckham. That's some going! Not sure if anyone else has - confirmed anyway. The test is merely a test of endurance and both physical and mental will and robustness. It's quite soul destroying to be going back and forth to a series of beeps, especially once you hit the 14 min + mark which is around level 13 I think. Lewis
Someone attach the file please (or provide a link). I keep thinking I might go back to theatre so it's probably a good idea to see how well I'm doing now. Ta

Shadow Beast
What's that then? running fast over a set distance say between 3 lamp post then jogging over a set distance say 4 lamp posts, do this a few times and you really feel the benefit, i do this training at work around the camp and that route has some hills on it to make it intresting!!
