Getrag
Those insurance peeps must be designed to give you subtle messages to convince you to kill yourself Anyone got any clues about getting insured on a Jspec, TT, 6spd, Vielside at 24? But sig might give it away as to why though! Better car for less, bargin
JustGav
Graham, was that the off the road, cos i wouldn't want to get any dirt on it bit??? *grin*
JustGav
At least at the moment, I can say my supra is quicker than yours on a public road *grin*
lightwave
Yeah, I'm 24 with Elephant. Works for me. But I'll give Adrian Flux a go when my renewal is due at the end of January. Maybe Admiral too.
Faye
I'm with Tesco, but I'm pretty sure they've stopped insuring under 25s
Getrag
Admiral, Adrian Flux and Elephant are all quoting ~£3000 - at least they gave me a quote. A few months ago I got a quote from Norwich Union for around 1800, this time they told me to go grab my ankles. I really think these insurance people just take a random guess at each new phone call

Supragal
They do seem to have really tightened it up recently. Not good! I hope they (Tesco) don't change their mind about mine when I take it off suspension!!

I live in a lowest banded crime area, was 25 with 5 years ncb and couldnt get it under £750!
Grazer
Just keep phoning m8. I called about 20 places until I got a reasonable (£1800) quote from Bell. It helps if you decide to live with your granny/cousin/[insert distant relative] who stay in a low crime area. I'm moving in with my mum in Ardfern for next year. JustGav
I'm pretty sure they have a random number generator, and they just pick a figure to quote... Legalized extortion...nothing less..
tDR
As I said to you m8, best way I've found is do an online quote for a UK spec with elephant, then call them quoting the quote reference. Tell them all details are exactly the same apart from it's an import and you want that stated on the policy. Usually they add about £200 and it's job done, cheaper quote than anywhere else for me. Cheers, Brian.

Why not get a quote for an import? I just ran through my details and came up with a quote for £900, which is nearly half what I paid last year (renewal due in Jan)
tDR
When I started doing that trick the online quote function didn't work for imports?
Grazer
I got twin turbo (import) as an option
Faith Adopter
just to note: elephant do not insure GZ's or RZ's.... But Privilege do I'm 25 and paying 600 F/C (import)
Getrag
Its looking better.... Tried the online elephant thing with a UK (wouldnt quote for import) then phoned them up. And they qouted me for an IMPORT, twin turbo at a very good price. Ill confirm it when I actually sign on the dotted line, as it were.... Bell Direct still had me up in the £2000's

Seb
I'm with Tesco, the only company that would actually give me a quote. I wonder who pays the most for their Soop insurance; I'd wager it's me, but there might be someone out there who's coughing up more, though I doubt it! Cheers, Brian. That's not the way I did it, I just called up as you can't pay online for a j-spec at any age. My docs say twinturbo import so you should'nt have any problems, it also looks like I got a fantastic deal on mine!
Paul Laing
I'm 22 and pay £610 fully comp with Elephant for my UK 6, i paid £650 when i first bought my car when i was 21 but it's came down a bit. I used to pay £2,200 for my Jap N/A when i was 20 through CIS!! Paul
