Lively rear end!!

I'm going to die soon I'm sure.....

Twice in the last week I have purposefully increased the ratio of right foot force : pedal resistance whilst going round a corner.

The scary bit is it's been perfect both times, once provoked by some twat in an astra pulling a handbrake round a roundabout (it was late and no other cars were around at all, he was obviously showing off to his mate in the Cavalier behind him with HUGE alloys!!). Obviously I had to whack it into 2nd and give it a little loud, got the end out as he was turning himself round, and slid off beautifully down the road!!

Second time was on a roundabout that I know is always slippery, didn't even need to push it that hard it just went but again I held it brilliantly and corrected after a bit of a slide down the road!!

Now the problem is I know full well it was fluke! And I'm now going to get really complacent about it and try and do it more often.

This is bad.......... I need RLTC............ and I need someone to wire it in permanently!!

It's only a matter of time, Trev, before it bites back, and believe you me, the Supra bites back hard.

Coming into winter isn't really the time to start getting over confident with the Supra, it'll only end in tears :(

If you want to have a play, find yourself an empty car park, where you've got a bit of room to manoevre.

I know its got to be hard for you younger drivers who've been brought up with FWD cars. People of my generation were lucky enough to gain RWD experience on Escorts and Cortinas, not high performance cars like the Supra.

It doesn't mean that I'm not going to stack mine, just that I should know better :D

I could just be a brilliant driver obviously!

See it's happening already!! My brain is saying "No, you're crap, you've just been lucky, what are you thinking man!! *slap*." But then there's this little tiny lump in my head saying "But what if you're just a naturally good driver? Maybe you should push it some more to find out!!".

God damn my semi-schizophrenic brain!!! :D

Must admit i have noticed mine is a little tail happy and thats coming from an ex 300zx owner!!

Not sure if its the tyres or just the sheer amount of power the car has but even in a straight line doing 80 odd and if you floor it in 4th or 5th the rears just spin and the back end comes out...kinda fun but also kinda scary  the only thing i would say is it feels easy to control prob more so that in the 300.

If you look at the Supra TT's torque curve it is easy to see why just a 'dab' of accelerator above 2000rpm can cause the back end to slide. One of the best things about the car !!

Take it to a big empty car park and test out a few slides, its a good way to learn how to keep the power on and not spin out.

Unfortunately it belonged to my Dad's business partner at the time.

Those things were bloody dangerous. Sod all rear grip.

I can vouch for that. I once pulled a 270 degree on a dual carriage way in one of those suckers. It made my mate go white, and I couldn't sop laughing.

Almost powerslid into a work colleague as well as he crossed the road leading into work. I could never resist that last corner.

Damn that car was fun.

I clearly recall the moment I realised a grass verge on a 90 degree bend concealed a ditch which was deeper than my capri was long :conf:

Went in nose first and after I got a mate with a landrover to pull it out it started and I drove it home! With a strong rope and a handy tree at my house we pulled the front out good as new (almost)
