I sell 3 varieties of J-Spec pads, stock, fast road and a race compound. All work well from cold, even the race ones. The fast road ones produce no more dust or noise than stock pads, add a good deal more fade resitance, and more bite for less pedal effort. the race ones are frequenrtly used on road only cars, have a huge amount more bite, a huge amount more fade resistance, but can be quite noisy and produce a lot of black dust. There is no benefit (none, zero) in buying anything other than quality (TUV approval is a good gauge of a decent product) stock type discs. No holes, no grooves, no funny black or coloured coating that rubs off fisrt time you use the the brakes, just plain stock. And DEFINITELY not those star shaped things that look like they are off a Roman chariot and shout "I will buy anything, anything at all..." :p

That's Nick Martin. My J-Spec did 15 or more track days, was an auto, and ran my pads, stock discs and trick fluid. Melted tyre valve plastic caps so they dripped on the paddock, and I could light my fag on the front discs AFTER a cooling down lap. No need for 4K unless you run big power and drive like errr, Nick...

Fantastic Chris

I just love the image of valve caps dripping on the paddock while you light up on the discs:cool:

Total:respekt: :respekt:

Best value if you can't stretch to UK's Gaz... :)

Did you have the race pads on your Supra Chris because I doubt the fast road pads would put up that kind of abuse. If I can reduce the brakes to nothing on the road then you'd be able to melt them without trying on the track....

I never tried the race pads but the fast road ones were a definite improvement over stock. I wouldn't swap them for my Brembo's though :)

For pure braking Chris's 'race spec' pads are all you could ever (reasonably) need.

IF you have expensive alloys though then i would not reccomend them for everyday use as the dust can be quite difficult to remove.

btw Chris when you recently brought the 2 skylines can i ask if anything about that white supra ( i think you were looking at) put you off it, or was it just that the x2 skylines were a better vfm/tuning option?

I never got to go and look at it, and, AFAIK, it's still for sale as he's struggling to get the asking price, in fact he regularly used to ring me... :-)

If it's genuine mileage though it would be a great base for a super Supra, IYSWIM?

I just dropped upon a seriously modded 2WD Skyline at the right money, then happened upon a 17,000 miler automatic one. I am swapping the good stuff into the auto shell with custom brakes and suspension stuff, solid subframe mounts, adjustable suspension arms, et cetera for some track day fun. GTS-t's are great value at the moment, and are a lot lighter than a Supra :innocent:

probably not tbh, but see myself seeking a white facelift manual car in the future. TBH it was just how i'd like one (styling wise), and i know he will struggle to get that money for it so i was just keeping an eye on it......

....... if you had seen it, it would have just been worth knowing.

only thing that is odd about it is that from memory it is a facelift but has the regular prefacelift indicators in the wing? seems a strange thing to want to add?
