Well here it is. Decided to go and change some fluid on my supra. Motoroil, filter, gearoil, ect....

To make a long story short. I never got around to change the gearoil! :(

I buggered around with that f*****g oilfilter for 3 or 4 hours, if not more.

I have never in my life, had so much trouble with af filter.

Holy christ it was stuck!!!

Had 3 differnt tools. None could do the job!

After some time the filter was beaten like at flat coke can...

THEN the time came, it was looooossseeee!!! Se pics, how the filter ended up.

Has anyone ever tryied to remove af filter that was stuck, like it has been super-glued on!?

BTW, can anyone tell me, what used to be here. Looks like the bolts are broken off. There are two of these. one on each side.

LOL:)

I ended up with one that was literally torn to pieces once!! I had to get it off with a hammer and an old screwdriver after I'd tried just about everything including ripping most of the filter itself off the base first!!

I think thats what happens when the filter rubber is not smoothed over with oil/film before tightening back up?

The rubber sticks because of the heat. Its needs the oil on the seal to create a seal also..:)

I've given up on doing oil changes myself. Rather than fart about with the hassle of draining the oil, changing the filter, applying plasters to my knuckles, getting rid of the old oil down the council tip, rolling around on the driveway only to find next-door's cat has shat in the gravel again, etc. - I'd much rather take it to Toyota and hand over a a few notes :)

Sorry no close up pictures, you would need the bar then remove the snapped studs with some extractors
