Sheefa
Think my rad is damaged guys after the crash. The bottom end has moved a considerable amount and the bottom is bent too. Any ideas where I can get a decent aftermarket rad for reasonable cost i.e. £300? Cheers Greg
Thorin
Fluidyne. Around £300 or slightly more I believe.
Sheefa
Thanks Thorin - are replacement rads easy to fit? I can't do jack all with mechnical parts so I probably shouldn't do it right?!
Thorin
No idea, I would have though so, probably best if I don't do it either though.
CJ
Do you have an auto or a manual? I believe they are different rads aren't they?
Sheefa
Yeah they must be different mate. I have an AUTO. Saw this on ebay but it's for a manual: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Supra-Koyo-racing-radiator-polished-alloy_W0QQitemZ290030195674QQihZ019QQcategoryZ72205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Looks lovely though
Lucifer
we do the entire kits:- http://www.mkivstore.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=1563 You will need the Auto cooler kit with any Rad upgrade for the Auto supra's
uk-rich
maybe wrong, but if you are auto, and you get a aftermarket rad, you will need a extra cooler for the tranny oil
Sheefa
Yep taking a look now Martin. I can see I need the Spal fan and transmission cooler too. That happily bumps up the price to a nice £563.99! See, a little crash can wreck havoc on your balance...... Anyone else want Martin to do a group buy with these? lol! Lucifer
I have 3 sets of everything in stock adn I can reduce the price by £50 (8%) if I move all 3.
Sheefa
Sounds good Martin. I'll check car with Chris and see what he thinks and get back to you. Although, if the price is reduced to the near 500 mark all in then it's probably a worthwile purchase anyway!
Lucifer
The fluidynes are a great piece of kit. Just so you know it takes just 20 mins to change the rad to teh fluidyne as its direct bolt in.
Sheefa
Cool as Martin. What about the Spal fan though - is there much performance difference between the two sizes that you provide mate?
Sheefa
Tried to call Martin - no answer but left message. Just a quick one, the Rad kit for an Auto say's it's an extra £99 for the Spal fan and Auto Cooler. Does this mean this Radiator package includes the Trans cooler and Spal fan for the extra £99 or do you also need to buy the trans cooler separately - i.e. it's not included in any of the options? Thanks

_Rob_
Sheefa, ive just fitted a new Fluidyne to my UK auto.the rad was easy enough to fit, the rubber mountings of the car where the rad sits needed widening slightly, but other than that it went straigh in. the intake for the stock airbox wont go back on however, due to there being no screw hole for it. ill be solving this in the near future though. i got a fluidyne tranny coler also, easy enough to fit, its gone in the duct where the stock SMIC is, but im sure it would go in the other side too. i will be getting a spal fan for my tranny cooler in the v.near future. only issue i had with the rad realy was the temp sensor to the bottom of the new rad leaked. this was solved by wrapping the thread in PTFE tape. seems to have worked fine so far. ive not drove the car yet with the new rad, just had it running so cant really comment on the performance. Class One
Of course it is well documented that the OEM one is a very very capable bit of kit. Perhaps you should try Steve Manley and get a price from him?

Perhaps you should try Steve Manley and get a price from him? Definately - would also question the whole spal fan thing too.. why bother - it wont be as good as the stock viscous... If you are buying to go bigger and better later then a different story perhaps?
mikeyb10supra
Why do you need an aftermarket one?? a stock toyota one can easily handle silly power, why the need for a non-stock one, half the price probably better than any aftermarket rad??
