Ignore me, I think I have just taken it the wrong way.
Naa I'm going to make an issue out of it now. You smell. :p

I wil confess that when I logged in on Monday (having been away from the forum for the weekend) I was not too pleased to see yet another thread which had turned into a moderator flaming session, and yet another 10 PMs from various people regarding the trader rules and what's wrong and what's righ.... well no just what's wrong with them. So maybe there was some bad vibes when I wrote my original reply. I can't be :innocent: all the time.

Just seen this, and personally i don't think the forum has changed that much since i joined, a few more members and a bit more bull, but thats to be expected, look at some of my early posts and the reception i got for daring to voice slightly different opinions to some of the er more established members, but it didn't put me off, and i didn't find it that different from other forums, after all i'm a member of the SXOC and others, so the fact that it degrades into school playground antics once in a while is no surprise, so you either ignore things that wind you up, or if its really a problem resolve it by PM or email, a forum by its very definition will only be as good or bad as the effort people are prepared to put into it!

Guys/Girls/Confused/Doug..........

I have been watching with dis-interest the way which the club has been going of late. Arguments one week, rod of iron leaving people scared to say anything the next. I mean FFS I am now told that calling a 'repost' will get you a verbal kicking.

As most of you know, I speak my mind and I do tread on toes now and again but I have never needed moderation to help me resolve my arguments, I have spoken to the member off-piste and resolved it with them like an adult.

Not only do I *feel* like the average age (and spelling ability level) has dropped to about 12, I also feel that the level of moderation has now risen to "dad" level (one before hitler).

I don't think it is any of the new mods fault, I simply think that they are finding their feet, I had thought that when the new mods came in it was to relieve some of the pressure on the existing mods, now there are so many that there does not seem to be enough work for anyone.

I have decided that for the time being I will take some time away from the forum. I may and probably will post the odd random post now and again during the day but that's about it for now. No idea how long for, maybe until lunchtime, maybe a year, I dunno.

You all have my contact details I think, if not then just ask.

I will miss a lot of teh fun and pi$$ taking but it seems that a lot of the newer members don't get it and instead sit there crying until mr. mod comes and wipes the tears away and punishes the naughty members.

Just my 2p, I don't expect or want any agreement/disagreement in what I have said, I am just explaining my reasons for taking a back seat.

I will still happily help in any way I can with the events for my area, if anyone feels they need any help or support in that (or any other respect) then please do give me a shout.

Cheers and peace out.

Lewis

Well as Nick mentioned (and I said in post #13 actually! ), we should have a completely free and open forum (or at least a sticky NWS thread) where 'ANYTHING GOES'. Even if mods moved any aggressive posts into that thread it'd be better than deletion (as that gets people annoyed it seems).

Or how about we just ignore the people who whinge about thread deletion / locking, then ban persistant gobshites who seem to wind people up with every other post?

It's an internet forum, not a democracy :)

So, just to clarify, you would be happy to see a "completely free and open forum" whereby people can post anything whatsoever with no come back? Including racist, homophobic, libelous, etc. Given that the forum can (and would) be held responsible for content posted and would then, in all probablilty, be shut down and/or find itself in court more times than Judge John Deed, do you really think that is such a good idea?
