New Supra in the club

Hi Matt and :welcome: to the club.

Lovely looking car there, it must be one of the last early spec 96 models, mid 96 the Supra was given a 'facelift' with different style lights, dash and few other aesthetic changes.

Any engine pics? What's the spec is it running stock boost?

Also what width are your rear wheels, on one of the photos they look a little narrow?

Any modifications planned? If you need any help with advice or parts just give me a shout :)

yours does look like the range topping GZ

if it has cruise and if so then itas the top of the range one

Second top. The UK spec has a higher spec than a GZ.

Mine came with these 18" Hi Join rims.
No, yours were quite different. I'm sure you had those shitty ones, same as the one that I have. Like these:

Cheers for the warm welcome everyone! Glad im in a crowd of friendly people!

Responses;

-No plans for her as yet, I haven’t had chance to think of anything like that! I don’t even know what everyin does yet! Lol. Altough I noted the orange repeaters which I want to change to clear. Small thing but makes all the differeance!

-Defo going to be taking it steady for the meantime while I get to grips with her!

-I bought the car from a dealer in Burnley, hes owned it for 6months, the orginal owner was a Docter who emigrated to Greece. I thin the wheels are Ninjas?!? Ring any bells anyone?

- This sounds so stupid but I don’t actually no if she has cruise control! Lol, I’ll have a look when I next get in her!!

Mascrat Manor hey, thanks for the link, I’ll have a look at it in a min and try and get myself down! Cheers Shytot, got lots of questions indeed!

Nic,

Really, little bit gutted I missed out on the facelift model  oh well, not to worry, I’m over the moon regardless!

Yeah I’ve got a pic of the engine (please see below) I would estimate that she isn’t running stock boost cos of the gadgets in the cockpit and the extraz in the engine bay, theres a blitz turbo timer and Pressure gauge inside.

No mods yet apart from maybe some clear repeaters and if there available clear indicators. Not a fan of orange stuff!

Feel like such a virgin!! I new almost everythin about my previous car, feel a bit lost now, but im sure I’ll get up to speed soon enough!

So are the sideskirts good ones then? i absoultely love them, what make are they?

Cheers again for the welcomes, look forward to seeing some of you sonn (if not Monday), and getting some ideas from from what you have done to your cars, although I probably wont do much for the time being, especially in the power department! Thinks I’ll be happy with that for a long time!! Lol

One last question, however, before I hit the search button. I have been told its imperative to warm up and down the turbo before and after use respecitively. Could some one shed some light on this for me. E.g how long for or when this procedure is required?

Thanks

Matt

yes matt you are right, i would suggest a turbo timer is essential, saves all the hassel of sitting waiting to turn the engine off. meantime just dont push it untill its fully warmed up up and leave it for between 1-4 minutes before you swich off depending on how it has been driven.HTH

Matt, looks very clean and fairly stock under the bonnet, apart from the Blitz (I think) induction kit and Apexi blow off valve.

I supply the facelift Toyota clear front indicators (£76 including postage) and TOMS crystal side markers (£24 including postage).

And if you want to go for the facelift look, I can also supply the headlights and rear lights too at a good price.

You've paid what you've paid. Now it's done.

Time to get on with maintenance, modding and driving experience.:D

Guest chiefvinso

Welcome, enjoy you motor. BTW you will have noticed some sly digs about power - its a UK spec jspec thing which you will find around here. I dont know if you are allowed to defend the jspec as you ahvent been on here long enough (not that I have been told how long it is) :D Jspec is by far the best choice :sly:
