..........Its not good news mate.

Trust me ;)

I use the spreadsheet as a service record too, it's good to know how much I've spent. It helps me realise how me and vicki can be on a good wages and still not have any money.

Looks as if I'm in the light weight league with you Pete, did about £3500 last year and still stock engine wise :eyebrows:

Was happy yesterday as got my insurance for £370! :D Would have been £305 if I didn't have my SP30 :(

So more money to blow on mods

Switched to Elephant from Admiral (Same company really). That's with Jo on with her two accidents Jan 04 & 05 and of course my SP30, oh and guaranteed no claims bonus. I must be because I'm in the best position as far as insurers go, UK Supra no mods and 30 years old.

Tried Jae at SKY insurance as I was interested in the agreed value they do, he was VERY helpful but just couldn't get near to my other quotes, I might have paid the extra to go with SKY (quoted me about £630) but because of Jo's accidents  they wouldn't protect my no claims bonus.

Looking into finding a company that provide agreed value documentation, I know my mate does it separate from his insurance company with his old beetle. Also 'Bignum' I'm sure has it on his Supra but I don't know if that is tied to his insurer. If anyone knows how to go about it please let me know :)

I have spent so much on mine and it doesn't even work. Honestly, if I had never bought that car I would have a much nicer house and no debt, bit gutted actually.

It will be worth it in the end Rosie :) How much has it come on now since I last saw it?

Funnily enough we just bit the bullet and started a spreadsheet on Sunday. It is a revelation as to what we actually spend money on.

We had surplus money of about £600 per month and that was after wildly over estimating other stuff like food.

We've got a good receipt system working now - I say now, we're only on day 4 but so far. It pays to be organised!

absolutely none... been so caught up getting the rental flat finished so tenants can move in, and the weathers put us off. But soon we will go up there and try and change some bits and pray it runs??? :search:

Weird, we did the same to see if we could afford to earn less than we do, if necessary with imminant redundancies on the horizon. The answer is no. haha.

Is weird how much money you spend on bits and bobs... rubbish...

Vicki is an accountant so she's got this stuff well organised. Every receipt gets checked off.

We have the joint account which we both contribute evenly too - this more than covers shopping and all bills, mortgage etc leaving what's in our own accounts to play with. No arguments over me spending whatever when I want it, and I don't complain about her buying her 56th pair of shoes.

agreed, this is a very good way to do it... provided you are on evenish salaries else you get whinging about "never having any money to spend" and "it's not fair" and blah blah blah, and then end up paying for everything anyway.

Thats over eight years of owning/developing the car (less than 6K a year)

Ferrari would cost way more than that in depreciation alone!
