Supra turbos?

One of my turbos has some damage to the blades, a rebuild is 1k and they can only rebuild with steel blades which means I lose torque and its money better spent elsewhere on my engine refresh that i feel is about to spiral into a money pit 😅

Anyone have any good condition turbos laying about with no to minimal shaft play and good condition blades?

Cheers

Where on earth did you get a) steel blades and b) losing torque from??

Spoke with Lee at srd, I don't question anything that man says haha he said compared to ceramic they dont spool as quick, to do with steel being heavier I guess

I have a set of turbos that were sold to me as off a twin to single conversion low miler (aren't they always?). Sold as a 36k mile set, £275 collected or arrange your own courier pickup. PM if interested.

@raddysI'd buy this set if I were you mate.

Yep I'd second that, I have a set I got ages ago from James/Turtlehead green car he went single on, so they are genuine low mileage (or at least have some provenance) and barely any BPU and I paid £500 back then (with all vsv's and pipework) from memory and wouldn't let them go for that now (sod's law if I didn't I'd start getting issues?)

I do recall Chris Wilson stating the J specs turbo spool was noticeably better than steels, perhaps less important at BPU+ and high rev ranges, than in a stock car.

Yes the j-spec ceramics spool up quicker, but the UK steel turbos have more torque top end, j-spec cars and UK cars were built for different applications.
