Nodalmighty
I while ago I said my odo had magically reset back to zero. Well during playing with my second hand one I bought I though I'd see what the mileage was on it. I then had a look at my old magical one only to find it was not magic at all. The original importer had cut all the lines to the last digit on the LED panel. It had actually clocked over to 100,000. Chris Wilson
At least the Scousers in the back of Autotrader clock `em with some panache and without wire cutters....
Nodalmighty
The second hand one is in KM. Do MOT stations do a miles conversion or do they require the ODO to be in miles?
jim
Not sure if it's different on the mainland bud, but in NI the vehicle testing agency can/will record the mileage as km rather than miles. Mine hasn't been converted and has been through MOT a couple of times with me now.
Chris Wilson
MOT needs speedo to be in MPH, but the odometer can read furlongs as far as the MOT are concerned.

As why would the importer have snipped the wires on the last digit if it was at say 80,000? It sounds to me the ODO was 180,000, and by snipping the wire on the first digit it rolled it back to 80,000 mile.

Burna
You sound very knowledgeable about Supra odometers In my 12 years of ownership I've seen a lot of so called 'mint' imported Supra's with 40,000 miles on the clock
Nodalmighty
I repaired it, it was only 103,000. It still has a dead segment and now dies intermittently which is new.
