SUPRA4EVA
Had the headlights out to get the bumper off. Headlights went back in with everything plugged back in. Now everything works but the HID's... So: Side lights, Main and Fog only. I never took a photo originally so don't know if I missed something. Battery wouldn't have been fully charged but WAS enough to start the car several times prior. Here are the current photos of the NSF, OSF is the same.
a98pmalcolm
try turing around the plug that goes into the cars loom. happened to me once..
berg
Yer as above You automatically assume the tab on the plug goes the same way as a stock bulb to lock the plug on but most hid kits it needs to go the opposite way
Mike2JZ
I had this issue some time ago, turns out the supra loom for the dimmed lights uses a switch earth, when the hid kit's are developed to work with a switched power. So just swap the polarity
Fitz
The plug in the middle, turn the black plug (or one or the other) round 180 degrees so it goes in the other way.
Nic
I'd also recommend wiring the ballasts up via a relay directly to the battery, it really helps with reliability and to get the best from the HID kit; they will light quicker and brighter. You can buy HID relay harnesses on Ebay which are basically plug and play. Edited March 6, 2016 by Nic (see edit history)
SUPRA4EVA
Arrgh! Now that you guys mention it, there was something funny about the black plug. But I wasn't laughing at the time! IIRC, yes I tried to get it back in the logical way, with the tab lined up. I'll give the ol' polarity a switch and report back. Nic, do you have a photo of that setup? This is my first encounter with HID's as they came with the car.
Frank Bullitt
I assume Nic is taking about something like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenon-HID-Conversion-KIT-Wire-H1-HID-Relay-40A-Loom-Direct-Power-From-Battery-/251407425059?hash=item3a890cde23:g:-pwAAOSwstxVQhRm
SUPRA4EVA
It worked! Here's the proof. Question: when this conversion was done, was the original bulb assembly unscrewed (via the 3 screws) and replaced with the HID unit? I assume the original bulb assembly was thrown out, so I'm permanently stuck with HID's?
Ric
You dont have to undo the screws, the bulb should just twist to unlock, then pull out.

HID kits are plug and play, ie. remove Halogen bulbs, fit HID kit, so very easy to switch back, you'd just need a pair 9005/6 bulbs.
