Can an auto TT tensioner be used on a manual eliminating the shock arm. From what I have read the shock arm is there due to manual gear changes are less smooth than the auto changes helping the tension remain tight. Has anyone ran a TT auto tensioner on a manual before? What im thinking is use the auto arm i have spare while my arm gets polished. so will run it for a week or so with the auto arm How ever if the car will run just as good without the the tension bar id rather the tidier look... TheTurtleshead Posted January 22, 2016 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Doesn't seem to make a difference from my experience. Seen plenty of manual cars running without the manual tensioner. My car still has it's auto tensioner and it's no slouch. It hasn't thrown the belt. For ultimate peace of mind fit it, it's there for a reason. Wouldn't worry me.
