Anyone on here used an FSR Streetfighter cast manifold?

The problem with the arnout manifold is that, while a very well made manifold, it still a very basic, generic cast manifold. The SPA/FSR one goes some way to evening the length of the stubs, and has been designed with some thought to flow.

 

That, and of course it is impossible to buy new Arnout manifolds :) But it is pretty similar to the Treadstone one.

The cast manifold in the PHR Street Torque kit could be another option, the wastegate flange is bolted to the manifold similar to the Treadstone one but it looks like the wastegate opening is a fair bit bigger. PHR use to supply parts from their kits separately so you may be able to source the manifold and downpipe together.

Is the manifold pictured in this thread available as *JUST* the manifold? Is the casting from someone else, and they have added the flange, or is it their own casting? Thanks for reminding us of what your setup was Wes. If my concern about welding stainless to cast iron proves unfounded this manifold looks a very viable way to go single with minimal hassle, assuming their downpipe and wastegate exit can be merged (with a flexible bellow of course) and their downpipe does not have clearance issues on a RHD car!

Would there be any other intrest in a fsr manifold, obviously needing to be approved by the mods etc

 

I've got a quote from fsr on discounts regarding units purchased from them,

 

5 manifolds sold cost x

10 cost y

Etc

 

if 15 or more are purchased they said they will give a 'special discount'

 

But would need to progress this further

A group buy would also help greatly with shipping :)

 

Might be worth sticking something up on the Aristo forum, Driftworks etc. :)

 

I'm not a member of these, might stick it up on the facebook group,

 

But i Obviously would need some intrest before tryinf to progress it further

What would be the chances of

 

a) getting Arnout to come out of retirement to do another run on his cast manifolds

 

or

 

b) getting Chris Wilson to make either his own or Arnout's manifolds

 

I would be interested in an SPA manifold if Chris is going to modify a few. I'm not interested in an Arnout style one though, it may be good quality but it is a very basic design. I would rather go tubular.

I was a gnats ballhair away from getting a cast manifold (JamiePs kit came up too good an offer for me to refuse) and it was nowhere near as good as your first image. That looks the absolute dogs danglies. I'm sitting here with tubular and I still think that cast is the way to go for a small/medium single :)

For what it's worth Jason, I've done a ton of reading on the SupraForums on cast manifolds over the last year and this FSR one is widely regarded as the best one available at the minute, lot's of people running it, for all sorts of horsepower goals and speak very highly of it.

 

This is certainly the manifold i will be using at some point in the future when i finally go single. Apparently excellent build quality, ported wastegate flange for no boost creep compared to other cast manifolds, excellent spool times etc.

 

Cast is certainly the best choice for around a 600bhp street car imho.
