Wow, I've not seen one of those manifolds for a few years!

 

There is a pretty major downside though, they don't sound anywhere near as nice as a tubular manifold. It's not just the volume, it's the tone too.

 

I love the idea of your build, but personally I would go with a tubular manifold (HKS, Greddy, Fullrace or Whifbitz ideally) and go for a smaller turbo to meet your goals. It's also much easier just swapping a turbo in the future if you want to take it further.

What's made you drop the R is your spec changing or did you deem it too much?

 

You've pretty much summed it up, the more I started buying parts the more I thought RS is normally quite stripped out (gt2 rs for example) where this is going to more of a step up without losing too much away from a road car :)

I quite like the sound of them, particularly this one :)

 

Your right it will be a restriction if I want more but it suits my goals very well.
