barneybrendan
Is the tensioner supposed to compress down easily or in a press. Mine is not budging solid is an understatement.
David P
That job needs doing in the vice and then use a small Allen key to hold it retracted until fitted.
Stevo
Not easily by any means, but it should compress ok in a press (I just used a bench vice)
barneybrendan
Sorted vice made it easy.
Chris Wilson
They must be compressed VERY SLOWLY. Just winding the vice handle as fast as you physique allows will probably burst it.
barneybrendan
I had to do it slow as only had small vice on the floor.
Shane
So did you find the cause of your problem Barney? Was it the small core plug?
barneybrendan
Yes mate that 20 mm core plug had a hole in it. Put car back together, but I think I screwd the timming right up. car wont start now. I removed the distributor as I was going to replace the oil seal, then removed crank pulley. Not the besy thing to do. Whats number one on the dizzy.
Shane
I am sure there's a drawing of the plug leads positions on the dizzy cap in the wsm, otherwise I can take a picture of the rotor arm at number one on the missus"s car when I get in from work tomorrow if that helps?
