Really? Even in the 3rd pic? I know they normally have an indented lip around the edge (or at least my mr2 one did) but this just looked a little too severe! Ill carry on using it and monitor it i guess. Worst that'll happen is i get stranded somewhere!

yep pretty sure I own one like that and posted a photo on here of it...

If it's not grooved all the way round it can't have been done/worn on the car.

What is the wording like on the belt?

The words Toyota are lovely and clear, hence why when i bought the car i assumed it had been done within the last 20k or so.

I think you'll be fine, only ever heard of one cambelt snap in 10 years!

Having another look the teeth all look securely attached and the groove was always present so maybe this can be considered acceptable wear. The body of the belt and centre of the teeth under the belt all look good.

I'd like to see some belts on others cars. Being non interference and the belt looking so new I may carry on for a while and monitor.

I am in East Northants mate, Just off J10 of the A14 so not too far from you. If you need a hand and are happy to drive it over to mine one weekend (if it ever stops snowing/raining/freezing) I will do it with you. I have a crank pulley tool. GSF sell the 6pk1955 for a good price and is made by either dayco or gates, both are fine. As you say its a non interference engine so you should be fine. Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra for an HKS one, but that's just my opinion.
