Brazil
I painted my car a year ago from a very metallic black to Toyota 202 black, but recently I have been getting a big urge to change the colour to something bright like Lamborghini orange. The thing is I don't know how long I will enjoy the orange so that is why I was thinking I could get it wrapped but I am yet to see a nice glossy orange wrap vinyl. My engine is coming out of the car as we speak, which I intend on having the engine bay painted, and if the vinyl is a no go this will also be an opportunity to have the car fully painted in its new colour. So my question; is there a nice glossy orange or other bright colour car wrap vinyl about?
Rob_Mitchell
wrapping is a fail on a supra! you end up having joins everywhere and looks gash. Get it repainted.
JamieP
Pick your wrapper well and they can look stunning, ive seen some awesome GTR's done now, PW Pro and valet magic seem to be the best in the game, I like this matt Orange and satin red, the red is tempting. http://www.pwpro.co.uk/cars/?portfolio=nissan-gtr-6 http://www.valetmagic.com/ [video=youtube;l-fMFSdrzq0] http://just.razzi.me/photos/903743/a8f9cd5.jpg Edited December 20, 2012 by JamieP (see edit history)
spikedjack
Wrap it, that way your paint stays fresh and you can always revert back down the line
Rob_Mitchell
Its easier to wrap a GTR as the edges and lines of the car means you can hide edges and joins. You can never wrap a roof on a supra without a hideous join somewhere. Them GTR's look tasty and i bet its easy over £1500 to have a wrap like that done? GTR is £1400 all done by PW Pro, id imagine mine would be even cheaper as they would not have to do the front lip, spoiler, side skirts or rear valance. Brazil
I can get my car painted in Portugal for 1'500 euros, the guys that wrap cars in Portugal charge 600 euros. I think the best thing to do is to visit a few car wrap places and inspect their work.

Guigsy
Shane's wrap looked good when I last saw it and he did it himself. You have to have a join somewhere. But if you do it on the c pillar it's only going to be a small area. I keep thinking about doing mine in Titan's copper colour.

Nice bit of viewing going through their galleries of past projects If your going to go the wrap route, they look to be your guys! (if your Uk based) Brazil, guess you woudl need to see some examples of viynl wrapping people over there before you laid out the cash!

I live in Portugal, there are lots of people doing it here but I imagine to have the quality I like I will need to purchase the vinyl myself. Though before I do so I will need to pick my wrapper. The-Plethora
I looked into the idea of wrapping but from what I can tell it costs around £1500 for a decent job and you can get a full paint job for around that price and the wraps I have looked at seem to only be good for 5 years or so. I reckon if you had a standard bonnet it wouldn't be too bad to have a go at if you can get the bits yourself but the roof, pillars and door handles would be the tricky bit. The wings and doors etc should be fairly straightforward I would think. Edited December 21, 2012 by The-Plethora (see edit history)
