listy
Last time I had access to an air gun, but won't have that this time. I also don't have a torque wrench. Any ideas? Is it safe to do it pukka tight using a breaker bar? I'm guessing the answer would be no, but thought I'd ask.
Al Massey
You're best to buy a torque wrench I went to halfords and bought a big one, cost £84.99 but with my trade card got it for £34.99 so it wasn't that bad, willing to pm you my trade card number if you want? Shane
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?232476-Crank-pulley-bolt-torque/page2&highlight=crank+bolt+torque If you are going to buy a torque wrench to do this job, make sure it's range covers this setting before you buy, thats a seriously high setting and not many of the diy mechanic style wrenches will be adaquate. listy
I managed to source one that my mate uses to tighten the wheel nuts on his hgv. He said it goes up to 400 nm. Is that going to suffice? Iirc they are torqued to 320nm? Or is it 320 ft lb?

The info from much wiser than me is in the link in my last post, but basically, "Toyota Service Manual states 330 N·m (3,300 kgf·cm, 243 ft·lbf)" thats for a j spec and I think there is a slight variation for the UK specs but yes your mates one will be fine.
