you notice most of sarnine vans were same colour scheme they must have the monopoly on prices. the coffee prices at one we went to was £1.60 for a bit of milk and coffee. i bet if you had a sarnie van and wanted to get a spot on site they would not let you. bet its all sewn up the fooking pikey cnuts.

would not mind if the food was expensive if it was anygood. if prices were reasonable people would go back and they would still sell all food.

think the food prices got a lot of people.a dear day out if you went with a family.

i could not be botherd walking back to car so thats only reason i got something from them. it was all free at monkeymotorsports mobile canteen. the pop soon went and my coffee and tea were fantastic. had a great box of fruit i could not give away. wonder if they broke even this year LOL

our ticket number was in the 8000`s

you see how many cars were in the carpark.

i was so looking forward to day and always come away dissapointed.would have loved to have taken part in it. bet its a real buzz

get all final results up soon then can update drag list with times and specs.

what was gavin l`s best time he has a new single kit on it, what turbo kit is it. and who`s was the blue single turbo supra with big arches in supra camp. got a few good pics of supras took with a 7.1 mega pixel camera.

So where was this fabled MonkeyMotorsports tea and coffee? I always read about it in your threads after the event but I've never actually seen it.

Me and Matt (Matt from Oxford) were drinking large Latte coffees all day and those were £2.80 a go  We easily spent over £20 on coffee. A 500ml bottle of warm water was a bargain at only £1.50

I tried a hot dog (Only £2) but it tasted of Domestos and I couldn't make myself swallow it even though I was bloody starving.

The Supras definately had trouble getting off the mark, but soon sped up. Good to see some of the usual faces again, and i saw Stu Fraser on the way home (i was in the red MR2).

Ah that was you in the MR2, nice looking car you have got there. Thought there would have been more cars on the way home to play with

The price of food was ridiculous though.... £1.60 for a botle of coke :thumbdown

All in all a good day. As people have said, the prices for food and drinks were astronomical. A bit disappointed with not being able to go down to the top speed end and the seating arrangement wasn't up to much. :blahblah: Good turn out for the Supra's and a few good times in there.

Well done to Envy for helping CRD out with a propshaft.

Can someone tell me how I managed to burn my head with only 5 mins of sun? Getting out of the place was a joke. It took me over an hour to get out and thats before I hit the traffic on the road!

Who's was the blue UK TT in the traffic leaving with 2 squashed passangers in the back? Nice car!! (I was in the Laguna, 1 car in front).

Had a good day out guys, suffered a few niggles, primarily the VVTi not wanting to give full boost in 1st/2nd ( intermitent), and I found that a boost cut has been set in my ECU @ 23psi :(. Best Run was a 12.3 but I hit boost cut in 3rd and 4th so ended up with a 121mph terminal, which is a shame as I am sure I can get into the high 11's with her. Also got a best 60' time of 1.8 second which I was chuffed with.

As Big C has already said, massive thanks to Migster as always, and the Phoenix guys as we were basically still putting the car together on the morning. The fresh engine had a grand total of 300 miles on her when we started racing and it never missed a beat. Mig, your a legend:thumbs:

Keith Cowie's car is awesome.... as was that bloody blue imprezza I raced that did a 9.9 when I ran against it :help:

Roll on Bovingdon......

Thanks guys to all the shouts out.

We did OK considering all the problems we had (all small thankfully), first was the ECU map corruption which didn't delay us too long. Then the main problem was getting the water pipes to stay on. The car just wouldn't stay cool so something to look at for its next outing.

Dee from CRD came over to wish us well and said he was out due to prop failure, to which Kevin offered the prop from his car. They spoke to the organsiers "you've got 10 minutes to swap it" so Dee's crack team of 6 mechanics set to work and got it done right in the nick of time - man can they work under pressure - that was including changing all 4 wheels, refuelling, remapping etc!

The guys went on to win the 2WD stage but against Keiths Skyline - that was gonna be tough!

Thanks to everyone that helped through the day and said Hi, I couldn't list you all as there was so many of you.

Big Big thanks to Matt for the use of his PDA (with internet access & bluetooth) which was literally a life safer.

Equally big thanks to Pete at Thor for going into the office on a Sunday to email the maps to me after all the problems.

:thanks:

Thanks Terry, Mig, Matt for the lubrication :D

Think the Supra garage was much better than all the other clubs with lots of club members to lend a hand/entertain!

Times wise we managed 11.6 @ 141mph with 2.4 60ft, (2.1 best). If the launch is right, a wise man once said "Terminal speed is a great indication of power" well then we are easily capable of a 10.

190mph coasting over the line due to overheating!

Regards,

Gaz.

I didn't check my 60ft times, I must have another look at the cards when I empty the car out tonight! If they are as grotty as I think they are going to be, then the old drag tyres might improve things. But then, I'm not all about the drag stuff, I like the results I got from being in street trim ;) Means I can do the same stuff at the next set of traffic lights  Plus I didn't break anything and didn't want to push my luck!

Well done Envy for holding together and getting good results, and letting Dee go on to kick some ass in the finals

hi all as you know yesterday started of bad for us and went even worse as the day progressed, on our first run trying every thing out we ran a 10.6 which was just as well as on our 2nd run the fuel pumps blew the relay, our 3rd RUN after rewiring them the gear boxmade a harendous noise and dee lifted of for an11.9 then when we eventualy made it back to the pits we dicovered the alternator was us ,on with a replacement then found out a fuel pump had stoped working after changing it and adjusting the fuel presure we went out and the prop failed half way up the run this must have been the bad noise on the previous run day over and we could not even try a top speed run which did realy hack us off. as it tuned out we made the rwd final with our borrowed prop, the westfield and the viper proved to be very quick and were real competition and we just scraped into the final with keith which rwd against 4wd and keiths great car we would have needed a miracle to win. however we did manage a 10.1 which pleased us congrats to keith.for us the best thing about the day was more than anything was the frendliness of every one and how every one from all the various teams helped us and each other out OF COURSE MY BIGGEST THANKS MUST GO TO THE ENVY GUYS sorry i did not get any names guys but as you know we were a bit busy sorry we kept you back, MANY MANY THANKS, of course i hope you do not need the favour returned but if you do just ask. every ones help turned a bad day into a good un ,our guys also were great in getting the car turned around in ten minuets two props off, refuel ,and change the tyres great team work, dave rowe from motec was also kept busy doing a great job changing maps and rewiring the pumps ect,we are all looking forward to next years event and who knows 2 wd may beat the 4wd heres hoping

jake we were about 500 yards away from where you parked your car.seen a few of the supra lads and they all looked busy with cars. i was in a dark blue escort.had loads of bottled water.

what about the club investing in a real good stove with gas bottle so you can cook your own food. all chip in for food. it has to be better than paying rip of charges for crap mass produced food. must say the first coffee at a van we went to was a nice cuppa. skyline lee`s first round was £15 lol

Yep ours had to go to Thor on a trailer the night before, so arrived at the event on one.

Some of guys (GTR's & Evo's etc) with trailers were stopping on the industrial estate, unloading them and then driving in. Tut tut ;)
