:D so i turned 21 on monday and i got a quote from direct line for 1400 with 1 years no claims and i had to say yes to it even though it is very expensive i dont care :p.

all that needs doing is mot and a good service but its been sat on my drive for 3 years now as my dad never drove it, plus its an import so have no manual which is mainly what i want so i know what i should do about a service, anyone know were i can find one?

cheers matt

TT or NA ?

Post up the spec and history of the car, if its not been driven or touched in 3 years the first thing i'd do would be a big service, cam belt, coolant, engine oil + filter, gearbox oil + filter, plugs, airfilter, fuel filter, replace brake fluid, check the rubber lines for cracking and replace if they are with braded hose, check the engine hoses, check the brake lines under the car and the fuel lines etc etc

Try Toyota first, Halfords batteries can be quite dear. One listed for a uk tt was £80 odd ££'s a while ago and i bought the correct one from Toyota for under £40, try your local motorfactors etc, you'll be supprised how much places can vary on certain parts that are basically the same. It pays to shop around ;)

haha, it also needs a new battery will one from halfords do?

Would indeed do, like Dnk said, make sure the specs of the requirements match with your selection. A load of guys on here have performance battery's which are obviously better - however you will have to pay a bit extra as you do with all "better quality" products : )

cheers will have a look around think my halfords were selling them off for around 40-50.

For a Halfords battery that's the right spec for a supra, don't expect much change out of £100. Last time I checked they were selling them for £90-ish, possibly more.

As the man said, shop around.

That tip works for the insurance as ffmacleod says. Paying £450 with the wife on the insurance and they quoted me double for just myself on a n/a supra
