be carefull with your weight reduction on wet days on m/ways with strong cross winds, especially if you have wide tyres. one of this super car's qualities is it's stability at high speed in adverse conditions, i love comming down beatock moor on the m74 in scotland at high speed, car glued to the road and a tail spray like a power boat, you can see it when you brake with the huge tail lights. i appreciate you may be preparing your car for special events where my comments would not apply. herbiemercman.

i dont think ill bother with a cage. how much weight would it add? 25-30kg?

I wouldnt be removing any of the door bars unless you have a cage fitted

Also a cage is not just for safety, if its done properly and tied into the chassis its great for adding stiffness to allow you to go firmer on the suspension where as without the chassis would flex ;)

A T45 cage weighs about a 3rd of a normal CDS cage but you pay for the weight saving.

Are they lighter than the Whifbitz Ti? And what about price?

They are like rocking horse droppings these days unless you kind find one second hand, the whifbitz Ti would certainly be better if you are planning on using it as a track toy, the Veilside sounds evil :D

Fair one the whifbitz maybe the one then. i take it that the whifbitz is to loud for the road then?

Just had mine weighed again today, only done a couple of bits since the last time, AP brakes, removed doluck RTS, was 1380kg with half a tank of fuel (which adds up with my last weigh in as the extra 1/4 tank fuel is about the weight of the items removed)

That's pretty good .. considering that you didn't put it on an extreme diet.

fair play what else have you got planed for it?

I want to get rid of some weight that I will never notice (and is free) first. That'd be removing all wiring & harness that is no longer needed (like what Ryan did) and also the sound deadening. I think there's 10kg there.

The next major saving would then be carbon boot with lexan. maybe 20kg there.

After that I *may* look at getting side impact built into the shell without a full cage and doing the carbon doors thing, 30kg there.

I'd then be close to a straight 1300kg. My target is to see a 12xx weight. I think it's doable as there still are some areas I haven't touched which are an easy save (bonnet, ti exhaust)

Yeah, I'm pleased with it, to look at the car only bucket seats on the inside give a clue as to the missing weight, it looks in main no different to any full fat single on here :)
