Could it be the butterfly valve in the inlet, because the sound changes alot when booting it??

It might be. I had a similar problem in my prelude which has a similar intake design to the na supra(two sets of runners, long for low rpm and short for high) and it turned out that a vacuum solenoid was causing the diaphram that operated the butterfly valve to not operate. That meant I was on the short runners all the time with less torque low down.

well i was just out opening and closing it by hand and there was a whoosing sound, where does the pipes lead?

They all lead to your intake.

When your car gets to about 4k you should here a change in induction noise as the butterfly valve opens another set of intake runners. If your butterfly valve is not working you make be stuck with the runners open which will mean your engine feels lethargic at low rpm's as their is not enough velocity in the intake to promote proper cylinder filling ( I think:blink:) So I would go check and see if your problem happens at all rpms or just at different points.

It was quite a common problem on preludes but I don't see it mentioned on here very often. You could also lift the bonnet and rev the engine and see if you can actually see the lever on the butterly valve operate.
