tbourner
That's racing though isn't it? It's not supposed to be fair! You can't expect people to get out of your way and let you through - he took a chance on a gap and it didn't pay off, tough luck, he didn't break any rules. Thorin
I don't think Hamilton deserved that drive through at all, that's racing. The Bourdais penalty was just *%&^ stupid, how on earth could anyone deem that he was at fault? Massa just didn't see him.
tbourner
Aah was it Bourdais and Massa? SB coming out the pits or something? Did he go over the line?

jim_supra
Aah was it Bourdais and Massa? SB coming out the pits or something? Did he go over the line? No, Bourdais came out of the pits as normal and turned in to the first corner staying on the inside. At the same time Massa went round the outside of Bourdais and basically drove in to the side of him. As a result Massa then spun out and Bourdais continued, he was then given a penalty after the race had ended for causing the accident

Hermit
Hamilton's dive into the first corner was a hot-headed rookie move, and he should've known better. But the penalty didn't really make a lot of difference to his race anyway thanks to Massa. Can't see how Bourdais should or even could have done anything different in the later incident - like everyone else I was expecting that to result in another penalty for Massa! At least Alonso drove well, and fully deserved the win
Daston
Also what about massa using the pit exit to overtake webber? Obviously the FIA fell asleep at that point. Although I dont like Alonso's personallity he has done bloody well the last two races and really is chucking that renault about. Well hopfully young Hamilton has learnt that wining a race in turn 1 is not the best idea. He should have left old mono tone through and then just stuck with him until he hit a wall. Gazboy
Also what about massa using the pit exit to overtake webber? Obviously the FIA fell asleep at that point. That was one of the most dangerous things I have seen for a bloody long time, if a car had been leaving the pit lane there would have been a huge accident. Alex
Charlie Whiting the Race Director told the teams that the car leaving the pits has priority. Therefore Massa was 100% in the wrong. The stewards obviously want to make Charlie look like a tit and do the opposite.

The FIA and the stewards are a bunch of t*ts imo, if they can 'penalise' Bourdais for just driving his STR but can't penalise Massa for driving at full throttle and overtaking inside the the exit of the pitlane, then they need to revise what they are actually doing!! jim_supra
I liked the way the stewards waited untill the end of the race to issue Bourdais' drive through penalty (thus becoming a 25sec penalty). This then meant that no appeal could be made against it. IIRC the incident was nearly 20 laps from the end of the race so there was plenty of time to issue a drive through during the race. SilverSoop
http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_4343115,00.html Massa chose to go around the bloody inside of Webber!! That's Massa's bloody fault, not Webber's!! He was a sitting duck and Massa had nothing but time to choose where he was going to overtake, but no, that little tw@t chose the MOST dangerous option!! If this crap keep happening with the favouritsm of the Ferrari's, I am just going to stop watching F1 as it is getting ridiculous now!!
MrRalphMan
Amazing.. really really amazing.. So now drivers are getting penalised for not letting Ferrari's through, while racing.. How soon before only one team is allowed to race in F1..
SupraStar 3000
Villeneuve was just on the news saying how ridiculous the new rules are. He made a valid comment! Whatever happened to the phrase "racing incident".

grahamc
Thats pathetic!!! Webber is good driver and had full rights to defend his position! Massa should have been penalised for dangerous/reckless driving! Im going to watch the rally! Thank god ferrari has never built a rally car (have they?).... hopefully they never do!!! michael
Im going to watch the rally! Thank god ferrari has never built a rally car (have they?).... hopefully they never do!!! 308 GTB... Seems unlikely they will return to such things but they do have a few modded cars that they send off on trips each year, EVO magazine usually cover some of it - the Panamerican was the last one, I think they went across China before that. I thought this one was built by a company (not Ferrari) obviously just using the ferrari. Sure there was a thread about the build of the car. Please let them stay out of WRC, I still enjoy watching that, and they still believe in settling things on the track/tarmac/gravel...
