Mike M
Couple that we know from our local pub run the raptor world at the Scottish deer centre so today they had a show on in Dundee. We were totally amazed by the size of the European eagle owl, she 's only 12 weeks old too. Couple of hawks there one was a Harris Hawk who's only 2 years old and from North America and I cant remember what the little nippy one was but it seemed to like grabbing worms out the ground lol. Just couldnt get over the size of the owl though, Stunning looking bird.

SupraStar 3000
I once knew an owl that lived in a oak. The more he heard, the less he spoke, The less he spoke, the more he heard, I wish I could be, like that wise old bird.

AndyT
On a serious note, how does one get involved with birds like those? I have always loved falcons, eagles, owls, kites etc.

Chris Wilson
Here's one of our 3 European Eagle Owls looking at the new pup and deciding whether waiting for it to put on some more weight, or eating it now is the best course of action. Mike M
mike did you see those at the Glamis country fair? It was at Camperdown park yesterday. Chris, Good job that bit fence is there LOL good photo. When they're out with the birds they sometimes get distracted by rabbits and they have a hard time trying to get the owls to leave them unlike the Hawks which can be coaxed away from their kill. How old are yours?
Chris Wilson
The old female is about 25, and we have one of her chicks from about 4 years ago, with an unrelated male of similar age, the male is the one in the photo. He's with his mate below, taken last summer I think. My friend has just had 3 vultures escape, he trimmed their flight feathers, but not enough, so they now fly free around his farm. So far they have stayed put for about a month, he's hoping to recapture them soon.http://www.chriswilson.tv/pairofowls.jpg

Mike M
Nice pic, Id imagine some vultures flying around will get some attention from passers by:). They arent the smallest of birds either. Hope he gets them back soon. Cheers Mike
