A proper, modern, airbag steering wheel.

I bought myself the limited edition genuine supra carbon fibre steering wheel, and then realised that I had a tiptronic wheel, so couldn't use it. I eventually sold it to my mate and now that I'm going manual I want to kick myself :(

PS: Good job mate, like it!

Thanks. I like it too :)

Sometimes I am just utterly gobsmacked.

I thought I would be inundated with PMs asking to buy the same for £150.

You guys will pay £125 for this:

but not £150 for a smart modernising steering wheel! :p

I'm a bit confused - the part fuel and water temp gauge - whats the difference from oem other than it has numbers on the water gauge - is it a TRD part? If so I want one - where;)

All oem steering wheels are rotten, the TRD is nice, but too big, and not as modern looking as it could have been, nice try on this mod altough I'm not too keen on all the chamoi leather:p

I have no idea. I think the needles are a slightly lighter shade or something  :)

To be honest I still don't think this looks as good as the proper VVTi Supra one. The wheel is the same, but the VVTi airbag is a little different with an embossed Toyota emblem, and I think that looks better. Here's a pic:

You can order the VVTi airbag cover/wheel centre trim as a separate piece:

Part number: 45130-14360-C0 "BUTTON ASSY, HORN"

the last time I did it I ended up smacking myself in the face with the steering wheel

Leave the nut on while you break the stiction on the spline next time....no chance of an injury then.

BTW - nice job.

I changed from the 4 spoke to a black TRD and would rate it as one of the best mods done to the car - honestly.

Isn't that the same wheel that was available on Starlet/Corolla models around 98? Couple of quid from a breakers?

Personally, I love the retro feel to 4 spoke wheel. It compliments the rest of the retro dash perfectly (more so than the 3 spoke IMO) and is infitting with a 15ish yr old car.

Saying that, I know where you're coming from and that 3 spoke wheel is pretty cool

The part number for the airbag adapter harness is 09082-00760

I have had a couple of PMs of people asking. I thought I had already posted a photo of it on here but I can't find it.

Part comes up on Toyota system as "special service tool", but it is the right part.
