I was only thinking today it would be nice to see the pics of them arriving. They are massive, no wonder they couldnt get round the corner.

Interesting how much thicker they are than the GT4088

Out of interest, given the size of the turbines, what is the expected power output from that.

And does it buzz the cows? :)

well one turbine would power 3000 average size homes:blink: and we are putting 26 up

what makes me laugh is the saving in energy/carbon used in their constuction and delivery etc will take much longer than it will actualy be standing.

they will be dismantled after 25yrs, but should make around 600million profit over the 25 yrs:blink:

25years? will they just replace the parts or is that it game over?

game over, they only leased the land for 25yrs then they get dismantled again, not sure what they will do about the 3000 ton of concrete we used for the bases on each one though:blink:

In 25 years its the end of the world after a full scale nuclear attack but areas with wind turbines will be uneffected as the turbines blow the nuclear fallout away

I find that sort of stuff really interesting! Make sure you post the dates you're transporting the things though so I don't get held up :D

3000 homes each is pretty impressive really. They've got so many of these in Germany now. Opinions seem pretty split on the aethetics though. Personally I think they look cool and modern but some just think they are an eyesore.
