PM'd about an engine mate.

Cheers mate I was going to pm you as I knew you had one, and thanks to everyone who has been in touch regarding an engine.

I have though just come back from Thor as I have picked up Ian Haywoods (i think) old NA engine from them:) It appears to be very tidy and complete and low milage. My boss let me have the day off to fetch it. Thor are only a couple of hours away so got my mate to drive his van over to get it with me, just dropped it his and my GF's brothers workshop. We will start taking the old one out tonight hopefully, so thingers crossed it should be ready for Japfest this weekend:)

cant be bothered reading all the pages to check if someone already asked, but what were the results of the dyno?

155 at the wheels which Charlie told me for a 100k+ miles NA auto aint (wasn't) to bad. The run was smooth with no issues.

Give us a shout if you need a hand Adam, i make a mean coffee:d:d

Thursday it is then jamie:) Hopefully me and mike will have the old one out tonight and the new one in but we'll see:rolleyes: Cant do anything on it tomorrow unless neil does so fingers crossed it can be finished thursday night, friday at the latest:)

Just a thought:rolleyes: A facelift engine will fit into a non face lift car yeh:rolleyes:

There is a slightly different wiring loom (engine side) not in the cabin/ecu area afaik.............but i assume you have all that included with the engine, so no problem there.

Someone mentioned there is auto/manual difference between the throttle bodies..........i'm not sure if this will cause you any problem though :search:

Well, the engine is out. We were flying last night untill we came to seperating it from the autobox. Bit of a problem with a ceased engine and a conrod jambed between the block the crank and god knows what else. It made quite a hole in the block, even braking part of the air con housing. Anyway, after a few hours we got it out so tonight we will be going all guns blazing to get it back together:)

A big thanks to Jamie (magictorch) and our mate Alan for popping down and helping me and mike (GF's brother). I think he has some pics which he will post hopefully:)

Its Alive:) Well sort of:rolleyes: 1 AM this morning we started her up and she fired straight away and sounded great. But the next thing we know there was oil every where. Thor had given me the wrong filter:( But Ive been to toyota this morning to get one (a 1993-1999 supra filter) which made me 45 mins late for work:sly: Anyway, Im assuming its the right one and that it will go on tonight. So I should see you all tomorrow with my supe:)
