Engineering at its finest in its day An even match in the air with Willi Messerschmitt's Bf109, but the 35 litre normally aspirated inverted V12 Daimler-Benz is a bit 'Status Quo' compared to the Spit's supercharged 'Metallica' R-R Merlin. I know I would be The two Hispano 20mm cannon in the mk.IX wouldn't leave much opportunity to recover any surviving film in the unlikely event of any survivors.
