Pete
Please excuse the language but I'm extremely pi$$ed off. We've had a fantastic evening at the West Mids Supra Xmas meal and it was a great evening meeting the usual guys, only to be marred by the f*ck wits at the bar. S7eve joined myself and Burna later on in the evening after the rest of the crew had left. He had a meal with his partner Claire and he went to buy another round at the bar only to be told they wouldn't serve 'them' (myself and Burna'). Ok, so we'd been there since 15:00 - but we'd been pacing ourselves very well and certainly not had "too much to drink" by 22:00. Myself, I'd had two pints before the meal, then three glasses of red, then two pints. Not exactly over the top considering the time span. They refused to serve us saying they they were supporting "responsible drinking". WTF?! We were in no way rowdy. We'd done nothing wrong. We'd sent collectively hundreds of pounds at this place, then they suddenly turn around and say they're not going to serve us for any good reason?! This cut the otherwise quite pleasant evening short and left a sour taste. So I'm at home having cheese and biscuits and a port. I tell you, this country is going to the dogs with PC bureaucratic bullshit.
Ian W
Totally agree mate. If that's the case then it's utter bullshit and i'd have a few choice words for them before leaving.

Pete
they refused to serve you because they thought you drank too much??? What a joke. Unbelievably yes. I'll make it VERY clear. We'd said or done NOTHING to provoke this. Quietly sat in the corner. They said because we'd been there for so long they thought we weren't drinking responsibly. We had designated drivers. We'd done nothing wrong. I've never experienced this kind of crap before. All I can say is it promotes the private home party philosophy.
Ian R
With that policy most drinking establishments would go bust

Homer
That’s f*cking ridiculous! If you were making a scene or spoiling the evening for other guests I could understand, but you and Burna are hardly the Chav loudmouth type.
michael
That’s f*cking ridiculous! I'm glad someone is sober enough to self-censor. Bl**dy drunkards, they think everyone wants to listen to their potty mouth language.

creative
I would also believe that they would have had a visit from the police prior to xmas stating that they will be doing alot more undercover work within bars looking for underage and the serving of intoxicated people.....They did with me. unfortunatly they are just covering their arses.. Pete
Bl**dy drunkards, they think everyone wants to listen to their potty mouth language. That's the point Michael old mate. I'm not too w@nkered to string a coherent sentence together, nor was anyone else. My only regret is I destroyed their reception display of giant put plants on the way out. That way I could have held the moral high ground as Vicki put it.

Homer
A letter to the management would be a good idea. Explain how it was a group (or club) event that had been planned for several weeks, that you'd been there a long time, but had not drank that much and that it spoiled the evening for those involved... Oh and that they won't be seeing any future custom from yourselves or members of your group. It might make them rethink how they go about their 'responsible drinking' policy... Pete
Pete you did have s7eve and Burna with you though S7eve had literally just turned up with his new girlie and had a meal. Poor lass, God knows what she thought. Burna was very well behaved. He hadn't fallen into any ditches or anything.!

We have the 'managers' name for this. Some twenty something year old that obviously had no idea how to run a pub. I won't be writing the letter tonight though

That way I could have held the moral high ground as Vicki put it. Cant beat a bit of intoxicated revenge lol.....good on you mate, I would have kicked off after that, to just prove a point that their responsible drinking rules is now causing a scene, so let me get back to my supposedly irresponsible drinking quietly in the corner....... I would've liked to kick off, but that would've been playing into their hands. Julia (Burnas girlie - she'll hate me for that) cleared up after me.
