  1. i heard about this in the car park at work today!! http://members.aol.com/jshipperley99/wtf.jpg
  2. brilliant i was going to say the gates were shut, which was shite in comparison? looks like the best cold air feed yet
  3. sorry didn't get back out in time to see your FMIC setup & i also wanted to see your carputer definitely next month
  4. nice to see y'all as usual shame about the weather, but still worth the run down Matt, you've got a couple of things you can try yourself, i.e. the fuel cut defencer being turned up too high & the plugs being the wrong ones or gapped incorrectly? once you've checked those i'd then go & visit Mr Wilson, you'll get better use of his time then. you know he won't like your electronic boost controller don't you? you've also helped me realise that being a passenger in the supra isn't nice QUOTE from Matt H: "ooh that's the first time i've managed to hold onto it when it's done that" - just after the back end went out both ways on exiting a roundabout
  5. fight the machine charlie, gotta play hard too
  6. yeah can do how does 6.15pm sound? then getting some food @ Mascrat?
  7. one of my number plates bulbs was out the other day so i tried maplins (no joy) and halfords for a replacement halfords had 2 choices, one was clear & one was a blue tint version. went for the blue tint version but they are more like clear in comparison with the ones i took out. even thought they are physically blue in colour, they are light blue whereas the ones i took out were much darker anyone know where these may have come from so i can get some more? they looked so much better cheers, wes
  8. my brother in law did this once, not sure if he's still got it or has any pics etc he's also got an old aircraft jet engine (one that is used to start up the main ones or something, like a pre-spool) which he's been trying to get up and running again!
  9. even the cardboard version looks great!
  10. sounds like the best thing would be to get round to taking the dash out mate & see if you can narrow it down a little better
  11. does it look a bit like this one Mark? http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=358685&highlight=heat+shield+template there's some nice instructions on there if you fancy making your own
  12. there was a TDI one on ebay the other week the open back is simply to allow them to cater for as many air filters as possible

  15. Defis eh? nice i've got my stereo & sub back in since the head unit had to have it's shock absorbers replaced, it was skipping CDs over the slightest of bumps other than that, nowt. i've been toying with the Carputer idea but nothing yet, and i've got some footwell lights to wire in but just haven't had chance - maybe i can get them in at the weekend in time for Monday night oh and i replaced a rear number plate light bulb
  16. you know i'm only joking mate looking forward to next Monday anything new to show off?
  17. i'd be interested too the best i've seen so far is this one on MVP but they only seem to come as part of a package when you buy the filter http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/merchant/catalogpics/mk4/gary/pic05.jpg
  18. too busy to spare a few hours in the evening shame Dodgy, if you're a little unsure of letting Mike know where you live, i'll happily pick you up on the way
  19. is there a solenoid anywhere along the boost pipework?
  20. it could be a scramble button. some boost controllers, like the Apexi AVC-R i used to have, have an optional wire that allows you to temporarily raise the boost to a higher setting than normal (a bit like when Michael Knight presses his boost button ) but, i'm pretty sure that the button was just a single wire going into the AVC-R and didn't have an earth too 1) have you got a boost controller? 2) does the boost stay at this higher setting permanently until the engine is switched off or does it only last a certain amount of time, i.e. 30 secs 3) is it just the boost that is raised when the button is pressed, i.e. can you measure the differences on your boost gauge with & without pressing the button?
  21. does sound like a misfire fits the description, as if the plugs aren't sparking properly or fuel starvation? a visit to a decent rolling road who can measure your fuelling as it happens is an option? AwesomeGTI in Manchester were good last time we went. it'll cost you £60 to turn up & get a session with them or wait for a group day & it's about £35 (but they don't always measure fuelling on group days). If it's doing this even when your boost controller is switched off, it is possible you don't have a restrictor ring in the exhaust & so there's nothing stopping the boost going above what it should be doing? i remember Mr Wilson telling me that even if you have a boost controller you still need a restrictor ring
  22. Kensington Mini Mouse Optical - £5 512mb DDR Ram PC 2100U (Memory) - £10 interested in these please matey got a pic of the mouse & do you know if the RAM is single or double sided? price including postage & is paypal acceptable?
  23. i'll gladly have a look, but my technical skills were pretty much what you saw last time! you can drive & i'll just witness it or something did you set it up as per those intructions on MKIV.com? or compare them at least?
