  1. John, you have to remember than tuning 300's is hard work!! and no one really does it so theres not many big power ones around so alot of what me and my mate are doing is all new!? so most cars that have got close to the 12's are all BPU bu this year there 3 or 4 300's coming out with reasonable power John, no he was right and never offered any items i took the car to a respected tuner to get their advice and they did agree that my 50mm intake pipework on my big turbos simply cannot supply enough air and the turbos will be working extra hard to make the boost. Terry, no that is Macca who has a very similar setup to mine but he is making more power than me at the moment. Mike
  2. Well its funny because he did say he could input it as a higher intake temp to fudge the figures, not that he would do it but it will be interesting to see with the right pressure settings what power she is making because theres cars out there that i know off running less boost, smaller turbos, less engine work etc and making 30+ rwhp more than i did so there must be something wrong lol Car does sound well at 1.5 bar with its 2 screamer pipes though
  3. Heres a pic of the dyno read out http://www.kirbz-zed.co.uk/scan0001.jpg The mapper did say i am losing alot of power from 5000 revs due to the fact my intake pipework is not big enough to provide the turbos with enough air so from there it went very rich so he had to back the fueling off and at 6000 revs he couldnt back it off anymore as it was starting to dett so i suppose if you went up on the map to 7800 revs which it should be pulling hard to the redline with the turbos i have it should have made 550+ but it means i have to take out the engine....again!! to fit larger pipework!!! God i have tuning cars Must admit its bloody quick on boost and i did seriously doubt the power readings from having high power cars before so i may for reference take it down to thor for a hubs reading Mike
  4. Cheers for that, so i am right in assuming that if the pressure was 30% higher than he set in the dyno then i will most likely have more power than was listed?? Dont get me wrong i'm not after a nice power reading to show off just a true reflection Mike
  5. but would if effect the power readings on the car or am i clutching at straws lol
  6. ohhhh do i spot a 300zx in there
  7. Had my project 300 mapped the other day and it didnt produce the power i was hoping for which i know a few reasons why but still theres a niggling thing which bothers me and i cant call the mapper as he;s away for a few days now so thought i would get some advice on here. When he set up the dyno for some reason the barometer was reading really low pressure (700) and he even said its the lowest he has ever seen so he inputted this into the dyno to allow for it but when he had mapped it and we did some power runs the barometer was reading over 1000!? Now i know i'm looking for any excuse to make me feel better but i was expecting alot more than what i got so would this make any difference?? Many thanks Mike
  8. wow that is cheap, when there out i will get in touch
  9. Can anyone reccommend anywhere to get this done as my new injectors seem to be a little out?? Many thanks Mike
  10. get some toyo 888's mate ive got some older nitto 555's to drag with this year Mike
  11. it is we removed the engine and box pretty much to do the turbo pipework!! see you guys are lucky you can remove the turbos, do pipework etc etc with the engine in but i think its one of the reasons i like them because there a challenge Must be mad
  12. yeh the R32 was superb, very nice, little ugly but beautiful as well!? but handling, power etc was superb i only sold it because i was made an offer i couldnt refuse
  13. Tell him to speak to andy http://www.supercarparts.co.uk sure he will have one
  14. A few people on here know ive got a 300zx for my sins well the project is nearly finished. I bought it with alot of the mods already on it but when i took it to be mapped with its F-Con we could not get it to boost and after many frustrating moments and an expert eye cast over it by Rod Bell it was determined that where the turbos are and the fact that the turbos only had mashing on that they simply was not getting enough air flow to boost!! So we embarked on a project to fit custom pipework onto the turbos along with filters and while we were at it do some other mods to the car which were: Fit new fuel rail 850 cc inj Tein Coilovers EDFC Relocate the Battery Relocate the oil cooler Fit new bigger rad Remove the rear wheel steering Fit longer studs as the front wheels were spaced out over the brakes And lots of other stuff which kept getting added When we had nearly got it back together i had already decided to change my engine management due to the fact that no one near me mapped it and i wanted a to go a different route so originally i opted for the apexi power fc which i was going to adapt but while this looked initially a good value route once i started to do it it became aparent that it was false economy so i ended up buying a nice AEM. When we finished it a few weeks ago even though it was not mapped, well only for 555cc inj i took her out to see if it had worked as we could only get 0.6 bar of boost before so quick blip of the throttle and hey presto 1.3 bar!!! whoops so it worked anyway booked her in for mapping which is next tuesday but with one problem!! no ECU had turned up!? so been chasing this bloody ecu round the country as i need it for tuesday and out of the blue it turned up today So "should" be complete after tuesday, well until my next mod anyway so i hope it compares to my supra power wise and hope to run it in the RWD class at TOTB Theres pictures on my site of some of the stuff i did Just thought i would share this as i'm well chuffed, well now the ecu has turned up i am lol Mike
