  1. I've got some form of Lurgi, just come home from work. Woke up at half 5 this morning with all my throat swollen and a head like a box of frogs. Gonna dose myself up and get in bed with the PSP & GTA Liberty City...
  2. One of the Cinese takeaways in Chorley has certificates on the wall announcing that the chef's have qualified from the DICK FAT school of cooking! ...thought the special sauce was a bit funny.
  3. When I was 18 I gave a couple of exciteable girls a ride round the block when I had a big custom bike (which got named the 'Fanny Magnet') - after I dropped the 2nd one off, I turned round & licked the pillion seat... from then on, everytime I came into the pub, it was "There's that animal, again" I'm just a sick puppy
  4. I had shit loads of them. I've still got scans of the first few sets on my PC
  5. And that I always do. I got paid £2.50 for todays poo!
  6. Just been speaking to Sam & Greg at Turbofit, really helpful couple - cheers guys. Their advice has been to fit a TT gasket which should fill any small imperfections in the block and everything should be fine. That seems to have de-stressed me (and my wallet) somewhat, so hopefully I'll be back up and running next weekend. My thanks for all the help & support from this forum, it's good to know that help is only a post or two away. Full Revs Animal
  7. Just back from seeing the Supe. The good news is the head is fine - no skimming or anything needed. The bad news is the block has been damaged on the front cylinder. I took a mate with me who's a good mechanic and between him and the Toyota guy, the general opinion was to just bolt the thing back together. To be honest I couldn't really see what the damage was, but there is slight wear between the barrel and water jacket (I think). Toyota said to rebuild the motor, but it could blow the gasket again, maybe after 2000, maybe after 60,000. I'm thinking the best plan now is to rebuild it and start looking for either a new block or a new motor complete. Once again, your advice would be welcomed. Full revs Animal
  8. Cheers Chris. I think getting the head off Ibrar looks like my best plan. I'll see what happens on Saturday as Mr. T's.
  9. What sort of cost would I be looking at if that were the case with my head? I know It would depend on what & how bad, etc - what did THAT job cost? I've just seen Ibrar has a head & cams for sale cheap - that looks like it might be the cheaper option for me if it's in good nick.
  10. Just had an update from Mr. T. It's not sounding good. He didn't go into details on the phone, but basically said the gaskets been on it's way out for ages and has eaten away at part of the cylinder head! He didn't say the head is buggered completely, but it will have a weak spot. Anyway, he's asked me to go down and have a look at it on Saturday morning and see the damage/discuss options. It's sounding to me like I should be looking for a new head - what do you lot reckon? WSB - has that motor been sold? Let me know a price if it hasn't, just in case. BUGGER Animal
  11. A girl in my old office, instead of answering the phone 'Good Afternoon', once picked the phone up and said "Wendy Emmett, good after nine". Class.
  12. Not too bad Dodgy. No news yet, yet though - Mr t still has it, I think they've stuck it in a corner hoping it'll go away. I'm gonna ring up tomorrow an' see what the crack is.
  13. Lol, yeah and the Ford Pikey could replace the old Transit, too.

    I Feel Great

It's an old vid, but it still makes me laugh. And buy some nutrigrain. Did a quick search, but it may still be a repost. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9007621520656841860&q=i+feel+great

    Oh, the shame

Still waiting to hear about the Supe's head gasket, so my dad's lent me his car so I can get to work the next couple of weeks. I now have the 'joy' of pottering about in a ruddy Ford Fiesta Fusion. God, it's the dullest thing on earth to drive. At least the Supe'll feel fantastic when I get it back. My dad used to have some cool cars, too - Saab 900 turbo, SD1, XJS, a couple of Sovereigns. WTF is he doing with this thing? Oh well, it's better than a kick in the nadgers I suppose. ??engine light??

One thing to check would be the joints onto the circuit board. I've seen a few posts about this and had to re-solder mine over Xmas cos the right hand pod was dead. Easy to see, just take the pod out, wiggle the connector blck and watch to see if the pins move away from the board. If they do, a blob of solder and they're fixed.
  17. Sympathies mate, it sucks being without transport. Hope you get sorted soon Something else to put on my list of shit to get checked out while mine is in the garage. Full Revs Animal
  18. A place I used to work had the unnoficial motto: Bos Fimus Causa Demens (very) loosely translated as "Bullshit For The Gullible". I always thought that was great.
  19. ROFL Looks like its been vaccuum formed in one lump
  20. They need to be on a car with a decent kit otherwise they can look completely OTT, or just plain daft.
  21. Cheers dude, I've had a couple of people suggest them, but only from hearsay. I'll give him a shout when I know the score. Full Revs Animal
  22. That was the start of the problems for sure. My not fully realising the importance of the expansion chamber (i.e. keeping that topped up, too) soon enough didn't help matters (Thanks to Terminators FAQ post I now know about that) I would definately recommend checking you rad cap especially if it's an original one as mine probably was as it was badly perished. And pull over as soon as you see the temp gauge rise, cos sitting in a queue of cars watching the bugger go through the red-line is not fun.
