  1. Impressive, better than a Haynes manual! MANY years ago I took the engine/gearbox out of my MGBGT V8 as I had to send the gear box away to be refurbished. There was less than 1cm clearance each side as I recall. I organised all the bolts, nuts etc into labelled plastic bags but when I had put it all back together a small bolt/nut remained unused with no label. Quite worrying at the time but it worked fine, nothing fell off and I never determined what it was !
  2. I'd pay money to stop my car sounding like that........
  3. the company/owner also commits the offence of "causing no insurance"
  4. If it is snowy definitely use manu mode and start off in second.. A short time after I got my TT Supra I got caught in several inches of new snow in north West London and did not realise I could do this. A 20 min journey took me 2 hrs, but I was grateful the traffic was so horrendous and slow, as 10 mph was really scary!. Just touching the throtle slewed the car sideways a few inches and despite the comment further up this thread, a BMW in front of me was having the same issue. Slight hills were a nightmare..... Since then I have driven in snow a couple of times and in manu starting in 2nd, control, is much better. (Still keep the speed down though, and don't even think of turbo boost

    insurance

I know there are MANY variables but for me this year, especially going BPU A Plan was WAY cheaper, albeit no agreed valuation
  6. It's repeated on Wednesday 7pm on BBC Two.

    TomTom

Sounds like a cool journey for you though Since posting this query I have found a yet to be released model; a Tomtom 920. This seems to do everything except drive the car (including an option for safety camera alerts and traffic warnings ) so I might have to find some extra cash...... I just love gadgets (though I know what you mean about figuring out how to use them)

    TomTom

I am looking at replacng my old street pilot 2 which has served me really well for 4 years with a new TomTom. Does anyone have any knowledge of 520's and 720's I'd be interested in what the differences are between them and also how reliable is the data re speed , sorry safety, cameras?

  10. Sorry just realised you said without decatting, so I reckon it will be fine for you as even with no cats it is not too bad idling along.
  11. I have one I agree with the above, however on a cold morning when the revs go up on first start it is anything but "silent" compared to the stock exhaust. I always back up on to the drive now so I can make a speedy getaway in the morning Still, it was a necessary part of bpu and aside from this it sounds great.
  12. Manu mode is brilliant First attempt in snow was 3 years ago, a few months after I got the Supra. Just touching the throttle was really "interesting" and VERY worrying! After this I discovered the manu button. Using the manu button and just resting yout foot on the throttle actually makes the car move in a straight line, if you use great discipline it is ok.
  13. This is normal and does not mean "no sound", so it should be fine.
  14. Resistance is futile........ There are 26,000 million insects living in every square mile of habitable land on Earth. As spiders eat flies, wasps etc they should be encouraged, not harmed! Spiders are the only thing our dog will not eat as one bit her in the mouth once
  15. Whether it is true or not I think it is worth signing the petition as it shows the govt that not everyone agrees with the weird apparent sense of political correctness that pops up frequently. Probably, soon, our athletes will be instructed not to try too hard as it might offend others if they are too competitive! After all we wil be the hosts; probably best not to win any medals ...........
  16. I thought I would post an update after I followed the advice to contact Tony, at Wheels in Motion. First of all he gave me LOADS of advice on settings and then assumed I was going to get the car set up somewhere else! Very impressive. Having ruined several tyres I was cetainly going to get him to do the work. Went to where he is now, near Hemel Hempstead (although he is moving soon) in June and he spent an hour sorting out my car which he reckoned, despite my report from a year ago, was ALL WRONG . I had just bought two new front tyres and depressingly he pointed out the rns tyre had nearly gone on the near edge as it was so out of alignment. So back from Wheels in motion and I had to buy two new rear tyres as well Then got the car BPU'd at Whifbitz (brilliant) and have since driven over 4,100 miles......... ( @ 2,000 of which would have certainly " exercised" the tyres) So, the result......... (just had the free check/fine tune) Front tyres (8.5 mm's of tread when new) now have 7.3 mm's Rear tyres (8.5 mm's of tread when new) now have around 6 mm's of tread All totally even wear. Thus if you are having problems with wheel alignment, Tony is THE guy to go to. It seems to be more of an art than technical with him and the results speak for themselves. Marks out of 10.... 11
  17. In July/August, for three weeks, around £650 going from London, all around Scotland and back - worth every penny Usually in the region of £60 to £100 per month
  18. I think it's great opportuntiy I'm just finishing updating all my on line bank details with Barclays as they have e-mailed me asking for them, then I am sending a guy in Nigeria £1,200 as he will then be able to deposit a very nice sum of money in my account. Then I'll forward this and write my resignation letter and get back to looking at web sites for property in California
  19. It may not be this one either but I love this.... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/67512/fastest_supra_in_the_world/
  20. If you have cable in your road you could investigate that for a phone.
  21. I thought I was reasonably good at Tetris till I saw this It can't be a human being !!!
  22. Thanks for the replies I did look in "Halfrauds" a while back and the Supra is not listed. However they do indeed do it if you know the code. It is also called Lucerne. They do a three stick package primer paint and lacquer if that is how its spelt.
