Fair play. I sat on the new ZX at the NEC bike show, but cant remember how it felt. Being 5ft 10 size isnt too much of a problem for me however. Track day sounds good. Im doing one on the 2nd August at Donnington. I will have a look at that link you sent.

One question Jamie - werent you tempted with the 05 ZX? All Ive read and heard about the 06 one, is that its not as good. Did you look into the Gixxer? New Blade? Nick

I dont think they are crazy money for the spec. From memory the factory is about £10,500 and the R is about £9k. But someone will probably have exact prices.... One things for sure, to get the same spec add-on's on a Duke, you are looking at the 999R which retails at circa £20k!! Like you mate, Id have gone Jap!

Saw a lovely new white Mille at this years TT. Very nice colour imo, with a red seat, and white and black fairings.... The one here is the factory spec one, so you get all the nice things like Ohlins and brembo radials... [ATTACH]38813[/ATTACH]

Actually the clearance wasnt an issue at all, except for the most awkward changes in road levels. The Top Secret was far better than the bumper I had previously (standard bumper with a large splitter), and was also better than my Abflug which is on my current TT. I would definately recommend it to anyone. Plus it looks the nuts imo... Nick

I totally agree. Ive owned two Dukes, and to say I had problems with them is an understatement. Dont get me wrong, they sound awesome, and handle incredibly well on corners, but they are so fookin unreliable. My 748 wouldnt start 6 times in a 6 month period. Each time it went back to Ducati Manchester for a look over. Each time I got a courtesy Ducati to use, and the funny thing was 2 of them ended up on the back of a truck as they wouldnt start as well!! My Monster was exactly the same - totally unreliable. Ive since bought a K5 GSXR1000, which is a thousand times better than any Ducati I could have bought, and its cheaper too. Ive owned it 12 months and the Gixxer hasnt had any problems, not one! Its been awesome. I wont be buying another Ducati thats for sure. Do what everyone else on here says, and buy Jap. If your really after a twin, imo I would go for an SP-2 or even a Mille before a Duke.... Let us know what you decide. What Duke were you thinking of buying? Nick Potts

Here you go Rob.... It was a Shakey Burne Monster Mob Ducati Rep. Sprayed up and signed by the man himself. Absolutely dolled up to the nines with carbon everywhere and full MV rear tail unit (although the image here shows the bip unit - hand stitched)... Shame the bloody thing had to go! I am after one of these KTMs!! Damn missed out on this... I had a 748 before I chopped it in last year for a K5 GSXR 1000. Best thing I ever did. I have since rode a 06 blade, and the Gixxer is the better bike, definately. Better gearbox, better rideability, and sounds way better too. Im a little bias, but check out the Superbike review of the big four. Gixxer comes out on top again. Having said all that, if you can wait till next year, when the new R1 will come out (which if anything like the new R6 will be awesome), as well as the new K7 Gixxer (which is sure to be amazing)... Just my thoughts... Whatever bike you get it will be awesome.. Nick

Cheers David. Yeah Ive done quite a bit to the car since I got it from you mate. Its in the body shop as we speak getting a Stillen Bodykit. Then its off to Thor to get set up with the FCD and new HKS Super Dragger. Then a bran new set of rear tyres to finish it off nicely. Should be really tight in a few weeks time.... Nick
