Well thanks for your replies guys. I'm not usually the confrontational type, you get a lot of shit from drivers in London and I've learnt over the years to let it pass, but this guy really was taking the piss. He was the sort of guy who you couldn't reason with, he thought it was his space and that was that. I didn't care about the parking space, I just went around the block and found a better residents bay, the issue here was the principle. I'm not the kind of person to go back and key his car, especially not as he lives down the street from me, things would escalate and it would just be silly. Anyway I left a note on his car last night saying: -- I wanted to inform you that I have filed a report with the police for your abusive and threatening behaviour towards me at 6:40pm on the 16th November 2006 and will be taking the matter as far as is possible within the law. In the five years I have lived in this area I have never come across anyone so arrogant, abusive and poor at driving as you quite clearly demonstrated today. I hope you will consider the consequences of your actions on and off the road a little more carefully in the future. -- The matter is concluded. Hopefully he'll have a think and realise he can't just do as he pleases, treat people like shit and completely get away with it.

His car is parked outside right now, he lives on the same street as me!
-
Believe me I wanted to, the fat w*nker! In retrospect if I'd egged him on to try it I could have probably done him for a bit more than verbal abuse.

I fixed the same problem last weekend, it turned out the fuse on the HID loom on that side was really corroded for some reason... replaced it and it fires up first time. That said I had this problem with my last set of HIDs and it turned out to be the bulb. Check the easy things first though like fuses, loose connections, ground.

Something seriously pissed me off today. I was driving along Old Brompton Road looking for a place to park. I saw a pay and display space and indicated, and then put on my hazzards to show the car behind me I was going to parellel park. I stuck the car in reverse and the car behind me overtook to go past knowing I was parking. The next thing I know, there's a BMW X5 (which would have been behind the car that overtook me) up my arse who's half pulled in to the space. I wait for a few seconds bemused over what the guy's done, wind down the window to ask him what the hell he was doing to which he said something like "get out of my space". In frustration and with a queue of cars behind him forming I drove down the road, pulled up and ran back to the guy's car *very* pissed off. I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing, he spouted some crap about how it was his space. He got out of his car, I asked if he lived around here, he said yes I live around the corner, "where do you live?", turns out we live in the same block. He spouted some more shit to which I said I would report him to the police, to which he said "do you want me to beat the f*ing crap out of you?". I could barely believe it, in 5 years of living in London I've never come across anyone so wrong, rude and threatening. I've reported him to the police, doubt anything will come of it, but I had to follow it up somehow! BMW Drivers....

I just came back from Vegas, went to Leading Edge Performance, vrey friendly shop but only had NSX's in at the time and not a lot of stock for Supes. I'd check out Virtual Works.... also I hear they have a F'n'F style drag every Sunday, only 700bhp+ need apply, I'd ask around and see if you can go along to watch! SP Engineering in the City of Industry (LA) have a lot of Supra parts if you don't mind venturing a bit further out...

A mixture of Sinfoni and Foal Utopia with an Alpine headunit, very pleased with the results

Hmm I remember that one around a year or so ago when I was looking for my UK TT, was around 18k at the time. Never saw it though.... could be worth taking a look at.
-
I've had my UK TT6 for a year and a couple of months now, love it to bits. Costs wise, I've probably spent a bit over 3k on servicing plus some other bits and bobs I replaced including a HKS Ti Exhaust, decats, Defi boost gauge, new headlights, HIDs, discs and pads all round, 4 new tyres (they were new when I bought it). Just calculated how much I've spent on petrol - 20k miles @ my probably optimistic average of 17mpg = £5k! So no they're not cheap, and that's not including insurance, road tax, etc. £10k should get you a decent example of a UK-spec auto with that sort of mileage although you might have to wait. For a manual you might be a little hard pushed... someone had one for sale on here recently at that price, seemed too good to be true and it was - turned out it was clocked. Regards, Francis

Hmmm, oh well... If you're looking at HIDs have you seen the recent "Vision" group buy? People seem to be very happy with those.
-
Were all the ones in the group buy 4" then? ... I'm very happy with mine, although I've been using 95% with the silencer in to keep the neighbours happy. I don't think the Supe's ever been running better since I put it on, especially after I blasted a 996 Turbo the other day! Only complaint is it seems to hang a little lower than the last HKS Carbon Ti, but if it's got more girth I guess that's to be expected! Will post a clip up soon.
-
No I think you're right. Whilst I am sure the ballasts are OEM Philips, I highly doubt the bulbs are Bosch as he claims. It is possible to rebase real Philips HID bulbs, eg the expensive Ultinon 6000k ones, but you're looking at at least £100 for the bulbs plus the cost of rebasing them.
-
I wrote a mini review about a year ago, it should still be on here somewhere. Anyway I got them from a guy called supervtec on eBay. The ballasts are top knotch, my only complaint is that one of the bulbs blew and I had to get a replacement but they really do look the biz and are an infinite improvement on the old halogens.

Drove past an blue Abflug somewhere near Bournemouth today on my travels! Looked very nice but as you were oncoming didn't get to have a good look. Also drove past an import silver supe with a lady in it on the begining of the M3 and saw a black one going in the opposite direction on the M3 a bit later around 5:30. FYI I was in the red UK spec with HIDs on!
-
Bump, need to get this out of my bedroom and on to someone's Supe fairly quickly!
-
Yeah, 4 in a year, no particular reason (besides the SuperDragger rusting through) just keep on getting offers I can't resist!

After the arrival of a HKS Titanium Racing exhaust from the Greddy Ti group buy, my old HKS Carbon Ti is now up for sale! I've given it a brief polish, could benefit from a little more if you care about pipes out of view- if I get time I'll do it myself, but in excellent condition with a few minor scrapes. For those that don't know this exhaust is made of stainless steel piping, a carbon fibre backbox and a titanium end pipe. Sounds fantastic, probably the best sounding exhaust I've had and I've had a few! (SuperDragger, Nur Spec-R, Ti Racing). Ready for collection in London, or potentially Bath/Northamptonshire. £395. One original Toyota rad cap, used for about 3 months before I replaced the rad with a Fluidyne. If yours is old then definitely consider replacing it, I randomly found my coolant was running low and eventually it turned out the rad cap had failed and was seeping out coolant, a common problem it seems with potentially bad side effects! £12 including P&P. Cheers, Francis

Well just returned from my round the world trip and happy to say I managed to see at least one Supra in every country I went to! Hong Kong - only saw the one in red, surprisingly rare even though there are a fair number of "older" cars around.. tuning shops here didn't know much about Supras. Original Toyota parts for the Supe were surprisingly expensive too! That said all the generic things like in car electronics, ICE all very cheap! China - managed to see one, photo attached. A real mixture of cars here (in Hang Zhou), £100k new S-classes and millions of clapped out VW taxis! Malaysia - saw quite a few here, several kitted, I guess petrol at around 30p/l helps! Sydney - quite a few around, one spotted on the street. Plenty of import car dealerships on Paramatta Road with plenty of Supra's, the ones I saw around the £10k mark. New Zealand - again a few around and a few Jap import dealerships - photo attached On another note, police seem to be very tight on speed here and in Australia too (where practically all of my relatives are one point away from losing their licenses).. I managed to get a ticket in NZ for 72 in a 40 (kmph) clocked by a police car coming in the opposite direction at 1am! (as far as I'm aware they can't do that here?) - £70 fine Fiji - I saw one here whilst on a tour of the main island. Kitted up to the eye balls with the number plate "I FLY", surprisingly this guy is one of the local pilots! California/Las Vegas - only managed to see one on the road but took the opportunity to check out a few tuning shops. First stop was Leading Edge Performance in Las Vegas - unfortunately they didn't have any Supra's in at the time, but three NSX's all with single turbo conversions putting out around 500bhp! Shame I wasn't around on the Sunday as apparently they have a Fast n Furious style drag meeting where only 700bhp+ need apply! Next stop was SP Engineering (http://www.sp-power.com) - this place had loads of Supes in (which is their speciality), only really got to look at one which was a NA-T conversion, and some other tidy examples in the car park. In the workshop they also had a Murcielago Convertable and Gallado undergoing $30k exhaust upgrades, a Ford GT having some performance upgrades, a 9sec Civic and their project RX-7 which they've dropped a 2JZ-GTE in to! Pretty serious stuff! It's good to get back to the Supra, it's new HKS Ti Racing exhaust and manual gear box after having driven a Proton Waja 1.6, a Toyota Corolla 1.8-VVTi and a Ford Mustang convertable, all fairly uninspring to drive but at least the first two had fuel economy!

Arrived in Hang Zhou yesterday and had my digicam to hand!
-
Red Supe with facelift front lights pulling in to the World Trade Centre in Hong Kong - my first spot in 2 weeks! Don't suppose it was anyone on here?
-
I'm wondering the same, I have a UK TT6, it's done 113k miles and doesn't have any problems that I know of, no smoking etc. I double decatted along with a CW SMIC and Fluidyne Radiator about 4k miles ago, I don't intend on raising the boost and it's boosting to 1.0bar at the moment.... hopefully it'll keep running smoothly for a while yet!

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=677448&postcount=181 That's when I fitted my drop in replacement HIDs that are rebased to 9006 fitment for the standard headlights. They work surprisingly well and the cut off is good, although for the best performance you'd want to do a retrofit like ascari has...
-
Nice mate, do you have any pics on how to do the retrofit? Difficult job to do?
-
Good time for a respray eh Rob - if you can organise anything that would be fantastic, of course I'm willing to pay, perhaps see you tomorrow?
