If Martin allows this I'll take it. You've got a PM
-
Yep, works fine on mine.

Goodyear Eagle F1's all the way, although admittedly I haven't tried anything else Be warey of Johnsons Tyres, check the recent thread on them...

My front brakes seem to be screaching when I break at low speeds. I thought new front discs and pads would cure this but obviously not. The pads are fine, is it the shims or lack of that could be causing the problem? Which parts do I need to order? Regards, Francis

Just to add to the positive comments I ordered a Fluidyne radiator from Martin at the weekend, it arried on Tuesday - not really much more you can ask for than that and the first trader I've used to get my order to me on time. Thanks again!

Hmm that's what I thought but when we turned the tyre around only found one smal stone which was removed and hasn't made a difference.

Hi there guys Well driving back from work today, suddenly noticed a ticking noise coming from the passenger side wheel that seems to go with each wheel rotation, almost as if something was scraping the arch every on every rotation - only happens when moving so it doesn't seem to be coming from the engine. Took it to Kwik Fit thinking it might be a nail or something, the guy jacked it up and rotated the wheel but couldn't find anything. Any ideas for when I take a look after the rain's cleared up? Cheers, Francis

Bump. The Samco hoses and Mikalor clamps are now gone but open to offers on the rest!

I ordered a paint stick from Toyota with my VIN (UK Spec), it's a perfect match!

I had a bad experience with these guys recently too. They gave a great price on F1s so I ordered with them and gave it a week - they didn't arrived. I called up and they said they were having supply problems so I decided to wait a few more days as they said they would be coming in any day, and of course a week later they hadn't arrived. I called up to ask for alternatives that I could get ASAP, he said he would look them up and call me back later that day. No call and the following day I call up and the guy says they've sent out Dunlop SP9000s - rediculous as they didn't even OK this with me! Nevertheless, since I'm in a bit of a stick with the MOT I decide to run with it as they're not a bad tyre... I call back two days later as they never arrived (supposedly sent next day courier two days ago), and they say they'll call me back and find out what's happened. Of course they don't, so I call them again and apparently they were sent to Birmingham as they were incorrectly addressed and are now waiting in the warehouse. At this point I've had enough, I ask to cancel the order which the guy agrees to. I call back later and apparently it's been done. Three weeks later I've not been refunded and have just sent back a claim form to the bank. ARGH! It seems some people have been lucky enough to obtain tyres from these people, but it seems you pay for what you get. I for one will not be going back to them.

The boys at Phoenix recommended the restrictor ring, I guess this may be holding it back, but on the other hand it might be wiser to keep it in to go easy on the turbos... I guess the question is, does the restrictor ring mean it's only performing as it would with the cats in, if so then I may as well put them back in!

Hi there Well installed my Defi boost gauge today and very happy with it (photos to follow). I've been bombing around today and during the day the most I managed to get was 0.8bar. This evening the most I managed to get flat out was 0.9bar. Just wondering whether this is normal for a UK TT6 fully decatted (but with restrictor ring) & new SMIC. Cheers, Francis

Sorry guys, these are long gone.

Hmm tempting, anyone have a photo of these on a red supe?

Just wondering whether a car with one HID headlight bulb and one normal bulb would pass the MOT? One of my HIDs has blown and I'm awaiting the replacement (any day now), since Halfords are charging 10 quid a bulb for 9006s just wondering whether to buy two or one.. Cheers, Francis

Well so much for Johnsons, ordered on the 7th, gave it a week but apparently they had problems getting the Goodyears in so asked if they had any alternatives that I could get quicker for my MOT, they said they'd call me back....no word from them so I called them back the following day and the guy said he'd sent out Dunlops SP9000s (without even checking if that was ok with me!), I went along with it, they didn't turn up and now days later apparently they're lost in the post. I cancelled today and got a set fitted from Grays in Ealing for 470 all inc.

Well I got my Supe about 11 months ago with nearly new Goodyear Eagle F1s, covered about 15k miles and both front and rears are ready for replacement. Seems very resonable to me, especially since the new set are costing me £368 (excl fitting).

Yep that's what most people do I think, changing the stock tweeters is very fiddly and probably involves damaging the stock grille. The new tweeters should work very well in the kick panels, and 16.5cm speakers will go perfectly in to a set of the speaker brackets (from the template available)

Ok going to have a bit of a clear out so here we go, photos are attached. Set of Samco turbo hoses for TT. They're in red and have hardly been used.... open to sensible offers. SOLD Set of brand new exhaust hangers for TT, didn't end up using these so may as well let them go. £16 incl P&P which is a fiver less than they cost me. Two brand new boot stoppers. I ordered boot rubbers from Jemca and of course they got me the wrong part, didn't realise till I got home and forgot to return them.. Think they cost me about 15 quid! Offers.. Full set of UK-spec shocks. Look to be in good condition, not sure when they came off the car, but were supplied as extras when I purchased it. Open to offers... Rear LED brakelight. Bought this on eBay, but the description didn't mention the crack in the back which had been repaired. It also has a miniscule chip in the plastic on the side you see - should show up in the photo... Anyway never got around to fitting this, it should work perfectly though. £32 incl P&P UK MAF sensor with air intake pipe (presumably has done 104k miles). I got one off a low milage car so replaced it on mine thinking it might solve my slightly idle problem but it didn't... £35 incl P&P Orange indicators - just replaced these for clear ones. Had to rip two of the bolts out on one of them as it was turning with the nut. Come with bulbs and bulb holders (with wires cut). Free for collection or £3.50 posted. Also various Mikalor clamps... Bought these from Envy thinking I'd replace all of them but didn't get around to it. I will get the sizes later, but they're essentially for the stock IC piping - would go very well with the Samco stuff.. SOLD Cheers, Francis

I've just ordered F1s from Johnson Tyres. Haven't arrived yet but the cheapest quote I found by far, 368 for the fronts (in that size) and rears. http://www.johnsonstyres.com I believe

Spent the whole afternoon working on the Supe today and managed to finally fit my CW SMIC and clear indicators. I couldn't believe how comprehensively the front bumper was held on! For anyone thinking of attempting this, it's not too difficult, just requires time and I'd recommend taking the wheels off to get good access to the arches. A couple of the bolts snapped but that aside it went fairly well and the CW SMIC was a perfect fit! Clear indicators were a surprisingly easy to fit once the bumper was off and make the car look loads better. The car now feels more responsive, I wouldn't say it's a night and day difference but it definitely feels more rapid! (photo of shagged SMIC attached) Anyway the main reason for my post was to ask how to fit a new O2 sensor. I bought an adapter plate from Thor with a generic Bosch sensor (see photo) for £66. I had a brief look today but couldn't seem to find the sensor under the air intake pipe - any ideas where to look? Is it easily accessible? I also understand the UK spec has two O2 sensors, one in the exhaust manifold and one in the second cat - will I benefit from renewing the second one as well? Cheers, Francis

I'm "packeted" on 360 Live

When I installed mine it ran a little rough to begin with. I think I reset the ECU as well, and after leaving it to idle for a while and a quick run around the block it was running perfectly!
