Thats not what I meant at all, rather that everytime something is better than over here its automatically false or in some way exagerated Theres some great cars over here obviously, and in terms of 'playing it safe' our tuners do better it would seem. They clearly have the lead in all out power and 1/4 times though and I don't see why we should have a problem aknowledging that, instead of some calling BS everytime.

I was gona say that its funny how when the US guys post great BHP dyno figures they are 'dyno' queens and the US dyno's are wrong, US bhp figures are different blah blah And then they go out on the 1/4 and prove the power and get low times that make our fast guys (TOTB etc) look slow..... but ofcourse the strips out there are downhill Looks like they can't win to me Maybe its time some smelt the coffee and realised that 'our' best is still way behind with a way to go

Very true John, fuel filter is getting changed in the next few weeks as its going in for service and they can do it up on the ramps as I don't fancy cross threading a fuel line on my back struggling to get to it properly. I checked the service records and last time it was due it wasn't changed due to 'low milage', which is fair enough but not when your pushing things well into the comfort zone as we are at higher boost. I've also run the STP total cleaner through the other month, before I realised the fuel filter hadn't been done. Once the filters done I'll shove another bottle through though for sure. I will make sure and check that vac line in case I've missed it before. Thanks again.

Nice spec and figures, but oh so ugly.

Hmmm this is my thinking too. When the car was completely stock the AFR's didn't go above 11, fair enough thats rich but hey I didn't Det lol Don't get me wrong this is hardly engine destroying within 2seconds det, but still.... Cheers for the input John, think I'm heading towards exploring some ecu options (oh joy).

Just an update before I finally book it into somewhere like Thor to carry out some deeper investigation. I heard at JAE from a chap who had this same issue on his UK supra, although his AFR's were reading a lot leaner. He eventually sorted this by doing the 12v fuel mod and it sorted it because it turned out to be an issue with the pump ECU not swapping to 12v correctly hence his lean AFR. I decided (despite reading the 'it does nothing' reports) seeing as it was free and easy to do, that I'd try it too. It didn't help, but at least it ruled it out. Next I've just tried it with a bottle of Millers CVL Turbo octane booster in (500ml bottle about £8) added as recommended to 20L (roughly) of Optimax, which I believe is Millers strongest available booster. I wacked the boost upto 1.2bar and not a sound - at last! Damn it was good to feel 1.2bar again without the nagging worry. Ok It doesn't really tell me what the problem is exactly, but at least it shows (along with the BP Ultimate test) that I'm not imaganing it and that I do have a slight det problem at over 1bar that is helped by a small increase in Octane. Is it feasible that at this boost level a 12 - 12.5 AFR (as the second turbo comes in) it could be considered too lean? Hence the extra Octane just helping to stop it detting, and that getting some more fuel in at those RPM's (emanage etc) would help the same way? Any input apprieciated as always

-1 to you for saying that

So funny how threads can get out of hand so easy on there, a pinch of salt and a quick 'stir' and its World War 3. See if this one kicks off by morning

Bad luck John, good job it wasn't too bad though. I got my 4 F1's from mytyres.co.uk and yes they came from Germany, but had no issues what so ever and very fast service and about £40-50 a tyre cheaper than elsewhere. I know where I'll be buying them from again

I keep reading about this but have to say that we had no bother at all when we stayed within the private beach as 'traders' weren't allowed to come on and bother us, there was a security hut at each side of the beach section and they kept them away not that I saw any of them try it. When walking further along the beach past the traders huts you would get them calling out greetings and some would come over and try and talk you into having a look at there stuff. Suppose it depends where you go and how you deal with them.

We went last December, best holiday yet by far. Stayed at the Sirenis cocotal beach resort which is a 5 Star, with a huge sprawling complex and perfect pool by the private beach Made a lot of the Euro hotels I've been to look like like cheap B+B's in fact. The place was so comprehensive we barely left it in the 2weeks we was there apart from walks down the beaches. There was 10 different restaurants, approx 10 bars a couple of theatres, a casino (not my scene) and a night club as well as live bands etc in the main reception bar area. It was about an hour from Punta Cana airport in east of the island and we loved it. My brother and his wife have been to the north of the island and they had a great time too. Take plenty of mozzy spray though Have a good time if your going, I'll be going back

Was a nice meet, and more importantly... nice food Good chatting with a few new faces there, and some not so new

Is that 16,000 'import' miles though? ie: pick a number and hope for the best... could be 116,000 lets face it

Yeah great film, I liked the original though too so couldn't choose between them. Well played lol, the soppy little girly bits dragged a little for me... I just wanted Ripley to leave her behind once and for all, is that so cruel?

Thats gota be one of the funniest reads in ages, the guy is obviously a complete retard.

A standard Vs a standard supe = supe gets it. VXR (400ish bhp) Vs a BPU supe = supe again As seb says, heavy things. They're giving them away now though, seen them loose 7-8grand within the first 6months.

Wow, looks great Chris... well done to you both

There being no such thing as UK n/a spec might not be helping there.... all UK's are TT m8

Wow, nice work Envy and Thor Can't wait to hear how it goes today. Those in the know say a certain amount of the losses will be fixed and a certain amount will rise in relation to the output, so I think your right that you can't just use a set percentage on a 300bhp car and then the same on a 800bhp car personally. I prefer Puma Racings calculation which they say has been the most accurate they have been able to come up with based on having engines out the car on the bench compared to the chassis dyno and input from manufacturers. They say for RWD use RWHP + 10 /.88 They say that this still allows a small percentage gain to reflect the percentage part of the losses while adding on a small fixed gain for the part that isn't. So ignoring any hub to wheels minor differences it would be 799 + 10 /.88 = 919bhp. But if the cars auto you would have to bear that in mind ofcourse as it will loose a little more, just to add to the confusion WRC Technologies use the same method too Such an interesting yet frustrating subject isn't it

There sure is some tossers about isn't there :thumbdown shame they ran off like pussy's though as you could have had some fun with them John I'm sure it will all come to light one way or another though. At least it didn't mess up the weekend for anyone, plenty of fun to be had and we could all laugh about it or should I say at them
