  1. Hi guys, Had a blitz bov fitted on the weekend. From what i can tell its not dumpng at all, its on a hardpipe on the ic piping if that helps (where everyone else has it!). The stock one is still in place and i can hear that fine. Is there any adjustment required on these? Sometihng simple i could try? Thanks!
  2. No worries mate, not often i have some useful knowledge to pass on!
  3. Yes mate you'll need a harness, supra specific. Think i have the same timer, harness is about a tenner. Paul E usually stocks them. It can be done without but then we're talking cutting up wires and splicing and all sorts of silliness!
  4. I've seen the figure 18psi as being the recommended upper limit on various websites. i.e. http://www.jscspeed.com/universal/boostcontroller/blitz_dualsbcs.htm Whether these are proven limits, or the tuners own recommendations i dont know. Happy to be proved wrong as the spec s is much cheaper. Anyone out there with a spec s def running more then 1.2 bar?
  5. No on hybrids. Even then 1.4 is a loooong way off. 1.2 is likely the max i'll take them to but would rather have the flexibility at a later date.
  6. sounds ominous, perhaps it coudn't control the boost and let it spike to something nasty? Though they seem to have some warning features built in which should have cut things down.
  7. I'm really not that technical mate. All i know is its intended for use up to 18psi, i guess maybe past that the solenoid can't handle the pressure/do its job properly?
  8. Yeah after much googling found the spec s can only handle up to 18 psi. A little too close to the limit for me. No visible markings between the two, as far as i can tell the main difference is the size of the solenoid. I'll see if he can stickhis head under the bonnet! Thanks guys, much appreciated.
  9. Hmm TBH i'm not fussed if it is a new/old/spec s/spec r model, just want to be sure it will work up to and past 1.4bar. So assuming worst case, and it is a spec s, does anyone know whether it can do the job?
  10. Found a very good price on one of these, but not sure if its the spec s or the spec r. Apparently according to seller on the front it says: "Dual SBC dual Solinoid Boost Controller". Am i right in thinking this is the spec r? Also, if it is a spec s, is this suitable for the supe? I plan to run around 1.4 bar at some point. Thanks in advance! Pic attached.
  11. Mate let me know when you want rid of that stupid noisy dump valve! You can even have my stock one
  12. I think he means relative to value of most TT's nowadays, say an average of 9k?
  13. You should come to our office then, 90% of desk phones have the CTU ringer, but cos we all have our mobile bills paid for no one uses them. So had to get it for the mobile instead! CTU Almeida!
  14. I may well be the saddest - I have the CTU ringtone form 24! I love it though
  15. I too have to agree with GeordieSteve. I'm 23 and really dont want another insurance hike. The car will soon be used to cover about 350 miles a week (fully expensed ) I considered a single for a long time, but i really dont need that kind of power. I rarely get a chance to drive the car in anger in london so 500bhp is useless to me. I think for someone replacing stock turbos, its a good mid point between singles and stock refurbs, both in terms of power and price.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7962223732 Hi all, Thinking of bidding for the above, can anyone comfirm this can be fitted without a car specific harness? Or where to get one from? Thanks!
  17. Just checked on HKS site, for future reference: 4501-RA002 TOYOTA MR2 1991-1995 Turbo ; Setting 7 4501-RA002 TOYOTA Supra 1993-1998 Turbo ; Setting 9 So looks to me like its the same unit just a different setting
  18. Thanks Michael, i'll give it a go
  19. Will it work on a supe TT? Just wanted to double check before buying. Anyone know? Thanks!
  20. Think this was someone from here, was mentioned in a thread earlier. Had to be cut out but ok if i remember correctly
  21. oh well, never mind. For anyone else interested the auction is for the front pads only according to he seller. Thanks Michael
  22. Seem to be going at a bargain price (for now). Does anyone know if either fo these will fit a jap spec TT with the smaller brakes? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=23013&item=7954671210&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=23013&item=7954671198&rd=1 Thanks!
  23. Update! ECU error code is coming up as 14, ignition signal. Read the blurb but anyone got laymans terms on what to check/fix? Battery also tested, it needs a recharge but they want to keep it overnight to give it a good full charge. Any chance the battery prob is linked to the error code? Thanks
  24. Its a j-spec, with no fuelling mods. I'm fairly sure the idle and power problem aren't tied together. My no.2 turbo has always been dodgy coming online, and recently the whistle noise has changed note. Although still boosting to about .8bar the power just doesnt seem to be there most times. I've changed all hoses, but have read your FAQ (great stuff) and will try a few more things. The aim is to solve this idle problem, give it a good thrashing and figure out exactly whats going on - though i find myself looking at hybrid info alot more nowadays!
